Evening Racing

Thursday 13th October 2022 Official Programme £3.00

Welcome to Chelmsford City Racecourse

Tonight, we are able to offer you our usual Thursday evening of competitive and exciting racing with seven races and plenty of runners. We, then, have another eleven race meetings this year with plenty to look forward to both on and off the racecourse.

In the next month, there is the Day of the Dead festival on Saturday, 29th October, when you will be able to party inside our big top with themed décor, lighting, and performers. Then, the next weekend, we have a Fireworks Spectacular on Sunday, 6th November, where the whole family can enjoy fireworks, fun fair rides, and a live DJ set.

Have a lovely evening and we hope to see you either racing or at some of our other events in the run-up to Christmas.

For more information about any of these events please visit chelmsfordcityracecourse.com or call the office on 01245 360300.

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS

The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.

The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).

The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

WAITING ALL NIGHT put up some respectable efforts in Group company earlier this summer and although he was turned over at 1/5 on his latest start at Catterick, it looks worth giving him another chance back on the all-weather If Richard Spencer’s colt does blot his copybook again, then the most likely to take advantage looks to be Creme Chantilly after her second on debut at Salisbury in August. Sigmund could fare best of the rest in the first-time blinkers.
