Chelmsford City Cup Presented by Greene King Thursday 25th August 2022 Official Programme £3.00

Welcome
I trust you have a lovely afternoon. Neil Graham Racing Director For more information about any of these events please visit chelmsfordcityracecourse.com or call the office on 01245 360300.
We are delighted to welcome Greene King to Chelmsford City Racecourse today, where you will be able to sample many of their cask and draught ales. Greene King are an East Anglian brewery, based in Bury St. Edmunds, from where they have been crafting fine ales for over 200 years. These beers include not only their IPA, Old Speckled Hen and Abbot ales, with which many of you may be familiar, but also Belhaven Best, which is brewed in Dunbar in Scotland’s oldest working brewery, as well as around a dozen modern and seasonal beers. These cask and brewery-conditioned beers are available throughout the year and vary from Ice Breaker Pale Ale, St. Edmunds, Olde Trip, Ruddles County to London Glory to name but a few. Do give them a try, as there should be one to suit everyone’s taste. This afternoon’s bumper card with 70 runners offers some fantastic racing and we are proud to have attracted so many runners when small fields are a persistent issue across British racing. Our feature race this afternoon is the Chelmsford City Cup, which has 10 runners and is worth £40,000 in added prize money. We also have some of the top jockeys in the world here today, including Ryan Moore, Jamie Spencer and William Buick.

PEACE
PEACE OF MINE did the job nicely on her racecourse debut at Salisbury two weeks ago and, despite having to shoulder a penalty this afternoon, she is fancied to complete the double under a red-hot William Buick. So Chic took a step forward from her first to second start and any further progression could see her go close here, while the 69-rated Caernarfon also warrants respect. OF MINE So Chic

A 2lb rise for his most recent win over this trip at Newcastle may not be enough to stop RHYTHM MASTER following that up in this. He kept on strongly to win by a length on that occasion and James Horton’s charge is capable of giving another good account. Royal Parade also kept on strongly to win with ease over 6f at Yarmouth and seems a big threat on his handicap debut, while Red Mirage completes the shortlist. RHYTHM MASTER Royal Parade
