Ministry of Sound Disco Saturday 20th August 2022 Official Programme £3.00

Welcome This evening, we have not only great racing but also the return of the Ministry of Sound Disco. This is the third time that we have welcomed this wonderful 15-piece band to the racecourse and they return this year with a brand-new live show, during which will be performing some of the greatest hits from the world of disco and house music. Prepare to be rocked by the sensational sounds of Chaka Khan, Chic, Daft Punk and Michael Jackson! We have some fascinating contests on the racecourse today with some interesting two year olds in both of the novice stakes the winners of these races have a terrific record of going-on to bigger and better things and they will be well worth watching in the future. I hope you manage to find the odd winner but, if not, I hope you have a lovely evening. Neil Graham Racing Director For more information about any of these events please visit chelmsfordcityracecourse.com or call the office on 01245 360300.

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).

CITY SELECTIONS
MISS BELLA BRAND has found a solid level of consistency and maintained it when she was third over C&D, beaten just two and a quarter lengths last time. If Ilka Gansera-Leveque’s four-year-old can reproduce that effort, she shouldn’t be too far away Lucia Joy has been given an opportunity by the handicapper to be involved, while Bondi Girl could also feature.
