MYRACING.COM SELECTIONS Surrey Princess has only had six starts in her life and just a single outing over this trip. That was at Lingfield last time out, finishing third in what looked a solid race for the grade where the first past the post (subsequently disqualified) has won again since. Simon Walker is an excellent booking in amateur contests so Surrey Princess looks the way to go. Caribbean Spring has a huge fan club and would prove a popular winner to end the night on and could be the danger.
Leading course trainer (17-22): A Watson (30 wins from 228 runners, 13%) runs ONLY THE BRAVE Trainer-in-form (last 14 days): F O’Brien (4 wins from 39 runners, 10%) runs DREAM CHASER Weightwatcher: CARIBBEAN SPRING won off a handicap mark of 52, his rating is now down 6lb to 46. Longest Traveller: KING CHRISTOPHE trained by A Keatley, Malton, 216 miles.

PLAY SMARTER SURREY PRINCESS is less exposed than her rivals and arrives on the back of a creditable third at Lingfield, so she gets the nod under Simon Walker. Only The Brave is liable to bounce back after a break, so she’s considered under another of the more experienced riders, and Vertice is no forlorn hope after a solid showing at Newcastle recently.
