CITY SELECTIONS SAMPHIRE COAST made a pleasing return to form when finishing an encouraging second at Kempton earlier this month after a short break. The eight-year-old gelding is 16lb lower than his last win, which came at this course in November 2019, and he gets the nod to strike off his current mark of 62. Legende D’art has been holding his form well with some consistent performances and he is unlikely to be far away, while Cashel is also considered as he tries a first-time hood.

PLAY SMARTER SAMPHIRE COAST hinted at a revival last time at Kempton and he’s dropped to a very handy mark. He isn’t the force he was a couple of years ago but should be able to capitalise off this sort of rating. Legende D’Art has been a model of consistency here of late and he’ll be a threat. Late Arrival isn’t out of it either.
