Abandonment between 1st and 3rd race – 50% refund

BIG SCREEN
Catterick Racecourse are pleased to announce that the big screen is present at today’s race meeting and will be at all Catterick’s fixtures during 2023.
CASH MACHINE
A cash machine is available for use in the Gods Solution Bar
The use of tablets and laptops is strictly controlled on all racecourses and they may not be used in or near any designated betting area, or for off course betting purposes. Failure to comply could result in your removal from the premises as per the Terms and Conditions of entry.
In the event of an incident which necessitates the partial or total evacuation of any area of the racecourse, announcements will be made over the Public Address and on the CCTV Please follow the directions of the racecourse staff and leave your area in a calm and orderly manner If you feel you require extra assistance please notify the nearest member of the racecourse staff
Facilities for Disabled Racegoers – Viewing ramps for wheelchair users only are situated next to the parade ring and in front of the grandstand. Disabled toilet facilities are available in the Gods Solution bar, next to the Luncheon Suite, next to the disabled car park and in the Course Enclosure facilities.
The Horserace Betting Levy Board prize fund schemes provide for the estimated inclusion of £189,631 in ratecard and incremental prize money at this racecourse from May to August 2023.
At all Catterick race meetings we has a minimum of two fully qualified equine vets who are employed to look after the welfare of all horses in action. They work closely with a British Horseracing Authority Veterinary Officer who is also always in attendance. In the unfortunate event of an accident or a horse becoming hurt or injured, the racecourse vets are on hand to act swiftly and treat a horse without delay. It is now standard procedure that all racecourses have modern, fully equipped horse ambulances so that horses can be moved and treated in more comfort. If a horse is injured out on the course, the vets and their assistants will erect screens enabling them to work in private - the use of screens will not automatically mean the horse has been seriously injured. Serious injuries at Catterick Racecourse are thankfully very rare, but we regard any injury, however slight it may be, an absolute priority and we would like to assure all racegoers that we have the right people, the right equipment and right procedures to deal with them efficiently
Will all racegoers please note the location of the first aid post which is at the entrance to the Disabled car Park.
For today’s race conditions, please see page 31.
Catterick are pleased to announce that they are now providing a shuttle bus service between the racecourse and Richmond town centre. Today the shuttle bus will leave the main entrance approximately 10 minutes after the last race. For further details please contact the Racecourse Office.

TIMEFORM VIEW Off mark at just second time of asking for new yard over 8.6f here last month. 6lb higher now but still very well treated on some form earlier in career and sure to make bold bid.
Breeding, Owner, Trainer & jockey are now defined by coloured symbols show above.
1. Jockey Colours
2. Saddlecloth Number
3. Horse Name
4. Days Since Last Ran
5. Form (Last 6 runs)
6. Age
7. Weight (Stone & lb)
8. Draw
9. BHA Rating
10. Timeform View
11. Timeform Rating (TRF) Each horse is given a star rating, these are defined below:
HHHHH Selected to win the race.
HHHHI Good chance of being placed.
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims.
HHIII Unlikely to win but not without hope.
HIIII Given little or no chance.
Form Additions
/ = denotes new season
- = denotes new year
C = Course Winner
D = Distance Winner
CD = Course & Distance Winner
BF = Beaten Favourite
d = disqualified
Bold form figures = All-Weather form
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

@catterickraces
This evening’s third race is kindly sponsored by a group of former semi-professional footballers who played for Netherfield FC during the early 1990’s.
The team, based in Kendal in Cumbria, played in the Northern Premier League (tier 8 of the English Football League system) under the management of former Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Gary Pierce, who played in the 1974 League Cup Final at Wembley when Wolves beat Manchester City 2-1.
Under Pierce’s leadership, the players of Netherfield FC became a tightly knit bunch - with the 1990 team still holding the record for the club’s best ever run in the FA Vase.
Netherfield FC were formed in 1919 and became Netherfield Kendal in 1998, before then being renamed as Kendal Town in 2000.
The players from 1990, whose ages now range from 55 to 66, come from various areas of the North West, and have remained good friends from their playing days.

TURNER GIRL went close over 1 1/2m here on her penultimate outing, and having been stretched by the extra distance at Ripon 3 weeks ago, Ed Dunlop’s C&D winner gets the verdict to come out on top with first-time headgear applied. Scottish Dancer broke his duck at Chester just 6 days ago and he’s sure to give the selection plenty to think about under a penalty, with Heatherdown Hero taken to fill third spot.
