Look out for the charity Racing to School today; you shouldn’t miss them as they will be leading a group of local pupils and their teachers through every corner of the racecourse for an action-packed day of fun challenges and discovery. The charity works nationwide with over 250 schools, and this year will reach around 16,000 young people – at UK racecourses, trainers’yards and studs.
They deliver free, outdoor activity days to support the learning and to boost the self-confidence of children aged nine and above. Racing to School uses racing venues as unique, fast-moving classrooms full of opportunities to practise and improve subjects like maths, literacy and problem-solving.
The charity is only able to support young people’s education through the kind donations it receives. Please scan this QR code to donate, if you can.

Longest Traveller: STAG HORN trained by A Watson, Upper Lambourn, 234 miles.
TODAY’S TIP
MORTLACH will surely find Stag Horn too hot to handle on these terms should that rival perform to something close to his best. However, Archie Watson’s representative needs to bounce back following a tame reappearance display in the Lan5arote at Fempton and he’s unproven over fences. Conversely, Mortlach arrives here in good form and he’s a safe conveyance with a good strike rate in this sphere, so he is preferred. Fusain looks up against it at the weights back in novice company

In-form Edgar Allan Poe seems sure to have a say and is next on the list, with in-form pair Fa5ayte and Belle Na Bann two more who need factoring into an open handicap.

B J. R. Wills
TIMEFORM VIEW Best effort since winning a 3m novice for Nicky Richards in 2020 when second in a 3-runner C&D handicap on stable debut last February. However, well held both starts over hurdles since returning to action in November and he’s easy enough to swerve. TFRHIIII BHA98

TODAY’S TIP
The one with the most persuasive claims is FISS Mi FACE, who was in good form prior to a below-par effort on his latest start in this sphere and returned from a short break with a solid effort on the Flat earlier this month. He performed well enough when runner-up off 1lb lower at Musselburgh in November to suggest that both this trip and mark should be within reach. Sanosuke may well benefit from moving up in trip and is next on the list ahead of Just Jess and Golden Cosmos.

TIMEFORMVIEW Stepped forward from his yard debut when third at Ascot in November and another solid run when fifth at Haydock next time. However, he jumped markedly to the right when below par over this C&D last time and a return to a right-handed track might be beneficial TFRHHHII BHA109

TIMEFORMVIEW Fairly useful on the Flat in Ireland and while he has proved rather hit-and-miss since switched to hurdles, this step up in trip could be just what is needed judged on his latest effort when fifth of 12 over 19.8f at Musselburgh. Now 4lb lower, too, so there is cause for optimism. TFRHHHHI BHA96
