SATURDAY 16TH OCTOBER The William Hill Catterick Dash OFFICIAL RACE PROGRAMME & FORM GUIDE £2.00

FINDING YOUR WAY AROUND THE RACECOURSE

WELCOME TO CATTERICK On behalf of everyone at Catterick Racecourse I would like to wish you all a very warm welcome to William Hill Catterick Dash Day. I would like to thank all of today’s sponsors for their generous support, Gaspara Asset Management, Jill Reese and Ken Sutcliffe who are both celebrating birthdays, the European Breeders Fund and our main sponsors William Hill. William Hill Catterick Dash Day is Catterick’s principle flat meeting of the year and it is great to see such a competitive card, especially for the Dash which looks a strong renewal. In addition, I am sure we will all have an eye on Champions Day at Ascot and be hoping to shout home some northern winners! Today is the first day of Racing Staff Week, which is a great initiative run by Racing Welfare, and is this year showcasing staff across all aspects of the racing industry. During the current pandemic Racing Welfare has been invaluable to many people in the industry and has highlighted the wide range of employment necessary to run the sport, so please have a chat to any of the Racing Welfare team here today. I hope that you all have an enjoyable and successful day. Best wishes, Fiona Needham General Manager

BIG SCREEN Catterick Racecourse are pleased to announce that the big screen is present at today’s race meeting and will be at all Catterick’s fixtures during 2021. CASH MACHINE A cash machine is available for use in the Gods Solution Bar. COMMUNICATION DEVICES The use of mobile telephones, laptops or any other communication device is strictly controlled on all racecourses. Please follow the directions of the racecourse staff and leave your area in a calm and orderly manner. If you feel you require extra assistance please notify the nearest member of the racecourse staff. FACILITIES FOR DISABLED RACEGOERS A viewing ramp for guests in wheelchairs only is situated in front of the Tote building next to the Winning Streak Restaurant. There are disabled toilet facilities in the Winning Streak restaurant, the Gods Solution bar and next to the Winners Enclosure. A lift in the Gods Solution bar is provided for access to the first floor of the Grandstand. HORSERACE BETTING LEVY BOARD The Horserace Betting Levy Board General Prize Fund scheme provides a sum towards prize money at this Racecourse in 2021. HORSE WELFARE AT CATTERICK At all Catterick race meetings we has a minimum of two fully qualified equine vets who are employed to look after the welfare of all horses in action. They work closely with a British Horseracing Authority Veterinary Officer who is also always in attendance. In the unfortunate event of an accident or a horse becoming hurt or injured, the racecourse vets are on hand to act swiftly and treat a horse without delay. It is now standard procedure that all racecourses have modern, fully equipped horse ambulances so that horses can be moved and treated in more comfort. If a horse is injured out on the course, the vets and their assistants will erect screens enabling them to work in private - the use of screens will not automatically mean the horse has been seriously injured. Serious injuries at Catterick Racecourse are thankfully very rare, but we regard any injury, however slight it may be, an absolute priority and we would like to assure all racegoers that we have the right people, the right equipment and right procedures to deal with them efficiently. MEDICAL ROOM Will all racegoers please note the location of the Medical Room, which is situated at the back of the weighing room. RACE CONDITIONS For today’s race conditions, please see page 31. SHUTTLE BUS Catterick are pleased to announce that they are now providing a shuttle bus service between the racecourse and Richmond town centre. Today the bus will leave from the hospitality car park at approximately 5pm. For further details please contact the Racecourse Office.

TODAY’S TIP A few with chances, but BINT ELMALEK made a promising start when third in a Newmarket maiden last month and looks the way to go here with improvement very much on the cards. My Bonnie Lassie has to concede 4lb to Charlie Hills’ filly but is still feared most after her taking win here with the step up to 7f also a plus. Tudor Queen will benefit too from this stiffer test and is next on the list. 1-2-3: 1.BINT ELMALEK (IRE) 2.MY BONNIE LASSIE 3.TUDOR QUEEN (IRE) Br Breeding
