WELCOME TO
A very warm welcome to Carlisle Racecourse for our annual Carlisle Youth Zone Raceday. Today is a celebration of racing, community and fundraising, as we come together to support Carlisle Youth Zone and the outstanding work it delivers for young people across our city. Thanks to the generosity of supporters, businesses and racegoers, last year’s Carlisle Youth Zone Raceday raised an incredible £28,501.91, helping the charity continue its vital work with thousands of local young people. Alongside an exciting programme of seven competitive races, racegoers can enjoy a range of family-friendly activities taking place around the racecourse throughout the afternoon. Whether you’re a regular racing fan, visiting for the first time, or simply here to support a great cause, we hope there is something for everyone to enjoy. We are delighted to welcome our charity partner, the Army Benevolent Fund who are raising awareness of the invaluable support they provide to soldiers, veterans and military families. There are also plenty of free activities to enjoy, including an inflatable darts board, crazy golf and an Extreme Reaction Challenge, helping to create a fun and memorable day for all ages. Today’s fixture is also an Autism in Racing Friendly Raceday, reflecting our commitment to ensuring racing remains accessible, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone. We are proud to support this initiative and thank all racegoers for helping us create an inclusive environment. We hope you can join us again next week when racing returns to Carlisle on Thursday 27 August. Thank you for supporting us today, I hope you have a fantastic afternoon. With best wishes, Helen Willis Carlisle Racecourse General Manager

2. BHA rating = the higher the number, the better the horse. 3. Timeform view and TFR rating 4. HORSE’S TRAINER & THEIR LOCATION
Look out for the summary of leading course trainers before each race. 5. JOCKEYS Listen out for any jockeys who are having a successful day. OTHER USEFUL DETAILS 6. Choose your bet. ‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are popular types of bet.
Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.
‘To win’ is for your horse to come first. ‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.
Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

TRENDSETTERS GUIDE
Previous race trends (2016-25) can often help provide a short-list of potential winners in the current year’s races. The percentage figure in brackets after the race details is the favourite’s ‘strike rate’ in the race for the last ten years. No meeting took place in 2020 due to Covid-19. Trainers who have won the race before are also highlighted if they had an entry at the final declaration stage. Drawfacts comments show the past record of winning stalls in the race – stalls divided as low-middle-high. In handicap races, horses that have previously won off the same/higher ratings will be flagged as ‘well handicapped’ with race card numbers shown.
