Welcome to Carlisle Racecourse for our Annual Easter Saturday Family Fun Day!

Today also marks the last of our jump’s fixtures for the 2021/2022 Season. What a season it’s been. As always, the Colin Parker Memorial race was a highlight for me. It was a sensational renewal with the talented Fiddlerontheroof going on to take the spoils. More recently it was fantastic to finally have a crowd for our Go North Race Day on the 27th March. It was the first time in 3 years that we were able to have a crowd which was only enhanced by all 3 of the finals being won by Northern Trainers. We look forward to growing this Raceday with the support of our Local Trainers and Owners.

Today is also a sad day for me as it will be my last jumps fixture at Carlisle before moving to Haydock Park Racecourse. I am an avid racing fan but the jumps will always have my heart and so will Carlisle. We also have Barrie Wells Trust – Box for kids here today. The Barrie Wells Trust is a charitable organisation, founded in 2008 by Chairman and sports philanthropist Barrie Wells. Barrie is the sole funder of the charity and as such they do not seek any fundraising or financial donations. We at the racecourse donate an executive box to the charity as many times a year as possible. The aim of the charity is - To further the care, relief and convalescence of seriously ill, terminally ill and disabled children and their families. - To help encourage and inspire young people. We have lots of children’s activities available today – head down to the Lonsdale area of the racecourse – (past the main grandstand). All the activities are complimentary.
