THURSDAY 14TH OCTOBER

ROCK YOUTH PROJECT RACEDAY Brought to you by Rachael Bell Wealth Management

OFFICIAL PROGRAMME £3 Court Dreaming, ridden by Ryan Day winning the Handicap Chase

THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOMES YOU Welcome to Jumps Season! It is so incredible to see you back here. The last time we had a jumps crowd at Carlisle Racecourse was the 13th December 2020! It seems like a lifetime ago and we are beyond thrilled to have you back. I am sure you are as excited as we are for the forth coming jumps season. Personally this time of year is my favourite as I have picked out all the horses that I want to follow for the season and the dream is alive! We start thick and fast with three meetings in October finishing off with the Colin Parker Memorial chase which is always a fantastic raceday. I want to thank Rachael Bell Wealth Management for their sponsorship of the day in support of the incredible Rock Youth Project who do so much for the youth of Carlisle. To find out more about this charity please go on their website https://www.therockyouthproject.co.uk/ . Also a big thank you to two fabulous local businesses Moynan Smith Accountants and 32 West. Thank you to you all for coming and supporting us today – it has been a very tough 18 months for us all and seeing you back on track is a wonderful sight. We hope to see you all again throughout the season. The best way to keep in touch with us is via Social Media or our Website. Alternatively if there is anything that you wish to speak to me personally about, then please call.

Hopefully see you soon. Best wishes, MOLLY DINGWALL DON’T FORGET OUR NEXT MEETING THURSDAY 21 OCTOBER COME AND ENJOY AN AFTERNOON AT THE RACES!

There's an excellent card to look forward to and whole host of familair names, both human and equine, to enjoy out on the track.

GOLD DES BOIS hasn’t been reassessed since his excellent second from out of the weights at Kelso 11 days ago so, with a reproduction of that form, he should be able to go one better on his second outing for Iain Jardine. PLAY SMARTER

MALPAS fell with the race seemingly at his mercy when departing 2 out at Sedgefield in the spring. He’s now failed to complete on 3 of his 4 starts over timber but returns with his yard in good form and the likelihood is he can gain compensation. Glentruan is quirky but undoubtedly capable and is feared most back over timber/in a refitted hood.

QUARTZ DU RHEU failed in his hat-trick bid at Warwick, but in going down narrowly to a well-handicapped rival from the Nicky Henderson yard he lost no caste in defeat. The 6-y-o is taken to regain the winning thread here, perhaps at the chief expense of Speak of The Devil. Amalfi Doug is probably worth taking on away from his beloved Perth and last year’s winner Court Dreaming has a bit to prove.

PLAY SMARTER

The vote goes to GRIPPER, who jumped well in the main prior to coming to grief at the final fence at Hexham 13 days ago. That was just his second start over the larger obstacles and he is appealing off this 2lb lower mark. The in-form Sword of Fate is greatly respected, despite a 6lb rise for his latest Perth success, and he is next on the list ahead of Armattiekan.
