STRAIGHT EACH WAY
Win only A bookmaker taking each way bets will display the terms on which he/she accepts such bets on the top of his/her board. This is a bet for your selection to win or be placed.
In conjunction with The RCA, the bookmakers have introduced standard each-way terms. Bookmakers will provide these terms, or better, when offering each-way betting.
· Fewer than 5 runners – all to win
5-7 runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2
· 8 or more runners – 1/5 odds a place 1-2-3
Handicaps with 12-15 runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3
· Handicaps with 16 or more runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3-4
Many bookmakers will also take bets at the other race meetings today. They offer a comprehensive service, including bets settled TAX FREE at Starting Price (S.P.)
At reduced odds you can back a horse and collect if it wins or runs second to the horse nominated by the bookmaker as favourite.
Shop around for the best odds against your selection. When you have decided on where to place your bet, state the number of your chosen horse and the stake, for example “number 4, £2 win”. Listen to the bookmaker repeat the number of the horse and the stake to his/her clerk and hand your stake to the bookmaker You will then be given an itemised receipt that gives details of the bet and shows potential winnings. You should keep this ticket safe.
If your selection wins (or, in the case of a place bet, is placed), hand the ticket back to the bookmaker for settlement. NEVER destroy your ticket until after the “Weighed In” announcement has been made. There may still be a Stewards’ Enquiry and the first past the post, or placed horses, may be disqualified. On rare occasions even the horse coming fourth has been awarded the race You may bet with confidence with any bookmaker as they have all been approved by the Administration of Gambling on Tracks Ltd, which administers the betting rings at each of Britain’s 60 racecourses. The AGT also offers a full late pay service, in case a bookmaker leaves the course before you have collected your winnings. Late pay claims should be sent to AGT, 3A Kings Hall, Parsons Green, St Ives, Cambridgeshire PE27 4WY.
Tel: 01480 499180
In the unlikely event that no independent bookmaker turns up to service either end of the racecourse (Bangor and Overton car parks), Bangor Sport will be able to service all betting requirements. Bangor Sport will offer to either ‘take the price’ or use the SP as a means of settling any bet. We will endeavour to show all races (including all those from away courses) on screens at either end of the course. If you have any queries, please ask a member of staff for help

15. A guide to the horse’s recent form and star rating. Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:
HHHHH Selected to win the race.
HHHHI Good chance of being placed. HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope.
HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
16. Jockey’s Name. If there is a number next to the name, this indicates that the jockey can claim that amount in weight (lbs) off the stated riding weight
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.
A left-handed track of approximately one mile three furlongs in circumference. There are nine relatively easy fences per circuit and a run-in of 325 yards. Three tight turns make the course somewhat sharp in nature.

NOTE: All statistics are up to and including 20th March.
HOMME PUBLIC has switched between fences and hurdles this season and his most recent effort when second over the larger obstacles at Doncaster was highly encouraging. Runner-up in this contest off 2lb lower in 2023, the eight-year-old is preferred to the class-dropping Thunder Rock, and Nusret, who must be of interest on his first run for the Nicky Henderson stable. West To The Bridge is expected to be thereabouts as well.
WIN: HOMME PUBLIC
DANGER: THUNDER ROCK
Similar to his stable, REGAL AND ROYAL could not be in better form at present and a further 4lb rise for his most recent success over C&D could prove lenient as he goes in search of the hat-trick. That may come at the main expense of Too Cool Forshrule, who scored over fences at Market Rasen last Sunday and reverts to the smaller obstacles off the same mark. Rock Hurley may also have a say
REGAL AND ROYAL
TOO COOL
Runner-up on his last two starts over 2m, STICK WITH ME SAM is going to win a race like this sooner rather than later and the booking of Sean Bowen is a big plus. A winner at Southwell on his penultimate outing (hurdles) before disappointing at the same track last time, Neigh Botha must enter calculations, as well as Boston Joe, who could be interesting returned to chasing.
WIN: STICK WITH ME SAM
DANGER: NEIGH BOTHA
RECORD HIGH appeared to have plenty in hand when winning over 3m2f at Fontwell a month ago and the eight-year-old merits plenty of respect on the back of that performance, despite a 4lb rise. Esperti was also successful on his most recent outing and could prove to be the main threat to the selection. That said, Jo Lescribaa and Lazy Sunday are others who arrive here with strong form claims.
WIN: RECORD HIGH
ESPERTI
SUNSHINE DIAMOND made a winning debut for these connections in a 3m Southwell novice hurdle in October and Neil Mulholland’s gelding merits the utmost respect on his handicap debut. Sole Solution is another progressive gelding who has to be of interest following back-to-back victories in recent months, while Andy Amo edges out Land Genie and Solar System to be the pick of the remainder
WIN: SUNSHINE DIAMOND DANGER: SOLE SOLUTION
CARRIG KATE produced a career-best effort to make the frame in Listed company at Doncaster earlier in the month and now drops back into a maiden. The seven-year-old should have no problems with this drop back in trip and can get off the mark. Atlantic Lad hasn’t finished out of the frame on each of his three starts over the smaller obstacles and should remain competitive, while Ki Woo is also noted.
WIN: CARRIG KATE
DANGER: ATLANTIC LAD
CHARMING GETAWAY led towards the finish to score by just under a length over 2m5f at Ludlow last month, shaping as if this step up in trip could unlock further improvement Mel Rowley’s eight-year-old is 6lb higher but expected to complete a double. Superior Glance wasn’t disgraced in third over C&D on her latest outing and is noted along with Mersey Street.
WIN: CHARMING GETAWAY
DANGER: SUPERIOR GLANCE

Betting Forecast:
10-3 Stick With Me Sam (FR), 5-1 Boston Joe (IRE), 11-2 Orbys River (IRE), 6-1 Neigh Botha (IRE), 13-2 As Tears Go By (GB), 7-1 Sovereign Star (IRE), 25-1 Limetree Boy (IRE), Chateau du Lys (GB)
Race Summary:
Quite a few of these are interesting and STICK WITH ME SAM gets the vote to go one place better than on his last 2 outings in the hope he can cut out the mistakes with Sean Bowen up for the first time. Boston Joe is certainly capable of a big run if in the mood, while Sovereign Star could do better now chasing and the well-handicapped As Tears Go By would be appealing if the betting spoke in his favour 1-2-3:

Race Summary:
The two that appeal most are hat-trick seekers SUNSHINE DIAMOND and Sole Solution, both of whom are heading in the right direction and remain with potential The former is one of very few of these who are proven over this trip and, assuming all is well following a break, he could be the answer. Double Click arrives here in good form and will be a threat if his stamina passes the test 1-2-3: 1.SUNSHINE DIAMOND (IRE) 2.SOLE SOLUTION (IRE) 3.DOUBLE
