We’re thrilled to be able to welcome local businesses from across the region, for the chance to make meaningful connections whilst enjoying a fantastic day of racing. We’ve got a great afternoon of racing ahead, with seven exciting races on the card. The action kicks off at 1.40pm with the North Wales Business Day Novices’ Hurdle race. The feature of the day comes at 2.50pm with the Goffs Yorton Sale 10th September Handicap Steeple Chase, with a total prize fund of £22,500. Racing draws to a close at 5.10pm with the Sun Racing Summer Jumps Championship Handicap Hurdle Race. A special thank you goes to our brilliant sponsors; Genesis Wealth Management, Yorton, DU Construction, the Kinsey Partnership, Lexus Wrexham Open and the RCA. Your support helps make this day possible and we’re proud to celebrate alongside so many fantastic local businesses and partners. We hope you have a wonderful day with us. HOW TO BET WITH A

RACECOURSE BOOKMAKER

WAYS TO BET STRAIGHT

Win only

EACH WAY

A bookmaker taking each way bets will display the terms on which he/she accepts such bets on the top of his/her board. This is a bet for your selection to win or be placed.

STANDARD TERMS FOR EACH WAY BETTING In conjunction with The RCA, the bookmakers have introduced standard each-way terms. Bookmakers will provide these terms, or better, when offering each-way betting. · Fewer than 5 runners – all to win · 5-7 runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2 · 8 or more runners – 1/5 odds a place 1-2-3 · Handicaps with 12-15 runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3 · Handicaps with 16 or more runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3-4

AWAY BETTING Many bookmakers will also take bets at the other race meetings today. They offer a comprehensive service, including bets settled TAX FREE at Starting Price (S.P.)

BETTING WITHOUT THE FAVOURITE At reduced odds you can back a horse and collect if it wins or runs second to the horse nominated by the bookmaker as favourite.

PLACING YOUR BET Shop around for the best odds against your selection. When you have decided on where to place your bet, state the number of your chosen horse and the stake, for example “number 4, £2 win”. Listen to the bookmaker repeat the number of the horse and the stake to his/her clerk and hand your stake to the bookmaker. You will then be given an itemised receipt that gives details of the bet and shows potential winnings. You should keep this ticket safe.

COLLECTING YOUR WINNINGS If your selection wins (or, in the case of a place bet, is placed), hand the ticket back to the bookmaker for settlement. NEVER destroy your ticket until after the “Weighed In” announcement has been made. There may still be a Stewards’ Enquiry and the first past the post, or placed horses, may be disqualified. On rare occasions even the horse coming fourth has been awarded the race. You may bet with confidence with any bookmaker as they have all been approved by the Administration of Gambling on Tracks Ltd, which administers the betting rings at each of Britain’s 60 racecourses. The AGT also offers a full late pay service, in case a bookmaker leaves the course before you have collected your winnings. Late pay claims should be sent to AGT, 3A Kings Hall, Parsons Green, St Ives, Cambridgeshire PE27 4WY. Tel: 01480 499180 In the unlikely event that no independent bookmaker turns up to service either end of the racecourse (Bangor and Overton car parks), Bangor Sport will be able to service all betting requirements. Bangor Sport will offer to either ‘take the price’ or use the SP as a means of settling any bet. We will endeavour to show all races (including all those from away courses) on screens at either end of the course. If you have any queries, please ask a member of staff for help.

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

BEST SELECTIONS

Two runnings have seen two winning favourites and if Dan Skelton’s HOE JOLY SMOKE heads the market, he could well make it three. A maiden over hurdles but with two wins over fences to his name, he has his first race over timber since 2023 but still looks a cut above these rivals. Iamyouare was a close-up second at Uttoxeter and she appears his most dangerous opponent, while That Old Chestnut has been running well in point-to-points and is of interest ahead of her hurdling bow. WIN: HOE JOLY SMOKE EACHWAY: IAMYOUARE

Soldier In Mayo is lightly raced but he did get off the mark over hurdles when last seen in May 2025. He is one to watch on his return from an absence, but preference is for DELGANY SECOND NOW, who also makes his chasing debut. The winner of his last two starts in handicap hurdles, the four-year-old makes significant appeal as he is due to be 17lb higher in the future and the switch to fences are unlikely to stop him. Rule Me In completes the shortlist. WIN: DELGANY SECOND NOW EACHWAY: SOLDIER IN MAYO

Mickey and James Bowen teamed up to take this last year and have chances once more with Tamarind Bay, who unseated at Perth last month but had won his previous two starts. He can go well but giving 14lb to the hat-trick seeking THICKTHORN TOM may prove too much. Upped in trip after easing home at Newton Abbot, he carries a 7lb penalty but still looks well-handicapped. Regal Renaissance lost a shoe when third at Worcester and is another for the shortlist, alongside the consistent Presentandcounting. TWIN: THICKTHORN TOM EACHWAY: TAMARIND BAY

RACE 5

Although I Heard A Rumour hasn’t cut much ice in two completed starts over hurdles, an improved performance wouldn’t surprise on her debut in handicap company. Market support for the five-year-old must be respected, but JAMMY JAY looks the one to beat. James Evans’ mare arrives on the back of a fourth in a deeper contest at Uttoxeter and a drop in class/trip is forecast to suit. Northern Rose can also feature if replicating her best form this season. WIN: JAMMY JAY EACHWAY: I HEARD A RUMOUR

RACE 6

A return to this distance and first-time cheekpieces proved just the ticket for KIWI DE COTTE when making a winning handicap bow at Market Rasen last month. That was the six-year-old’s second victory in three outings since racing under the tutelage of Dan Skelton and a 6lb higher mark doesn’t appear prohibitive. Reopposing runner-up Ernest Gray enjoys a 5lb pull with the selection and he isn’t taken lightly, although a bigger threat may emerge from the consistent Secret Trix. WIN: KIWI DE COTTE EACHWAY: SECRET TRIX

Having proved consistent between the flags this year, DEPALMA could be up to making a winning stable bow. Now in the care of the champion trainer, the seven-year-old is unexposed over 3m under Rules and a breakthrough victory in this sphere may beckon. Harrys Hope posted a solid second on her most recent outing at Worcester and she may give the selection most to think about, ahead of Uttoxeter runner-up Ridin Solo. WIN: DEPALMA EACHWAY: HARRYS HOPE

TODAY’S TOP TIPS

Ashdown Forest shaped as if this longer trip could unlock some improvement judged on his latest third at Market Rasen and is likely to prove popular for his leading connections. However, there didn’t appear to be any fluke about that day’s reopposing winner BALLYNOE BOY and a 5lb higher mark looks surmountable. La Lolita arrives here with less to prove than most, while Lucky In Taipan is heading in the right direction. WIN: BALLYNOE BOY EACHWAY: ASHDOWN FOREST

GREAT BRITISH BONUS The Great British Bonus (GBB) incentivises and rewards the breeding, buying and racing of British-bred fillies by paying out up to £100,000 per filly. And now with GBBPlus to further incentivise staying fillies and chasing mares, there are more reasons than ever to breed, buy and race British. Majority funded by HBLB.

The Boat at Erbistock is an award winning 17th century pub-restaurant that sits on the stunning river Dee, just 10 minutes upstream from Bangor-on-Dee. Dating back to the mid 17th century and probably much earlier this beautiful riverside inn has been welcoming and refreshing locals and passers-by for centuries. Our aim has been to preserve all its charm, nod nostalgically to the past and remember that proper pubs are always about people and atmosphere while gentling evolving into what a 21st century country pub should offer in terms of food, drink and service, as well as facilities. Having a warren of larger and smaller rooms means there is space for all walks of life and a variety of predilections from the dedicated drinkers and diners to walkers, bikers, anglers, shooters, canoeists and of course man’s best friend doggies….of the wellbehaved variety please. We also have a small private dining room that seats about 14 people comfortably that can also be used for meetings and even watching the odd game of rugby or other sports if the timings fit We hope you’ll come and see us and have a good time.
