A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

FRIDAY 10 FEBRUARY 2023

Good Afternoon,

Welcome to the RPM North Wales National Meeting here at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse, featuring the brand-new race, the RPM North Wales National. This is the first meeting of 2023 due to unfortunately having to abandon The Tote Hen Galan Meeting in January.

Today is also the first raceday for Patrick Chesters or Paddy as he is commonly known, as General Manager after taking over from Jeannie Chantler who led the racecourse for over two decades, ensuring the successful progression of this fabulous National Hunt course.

Today we have seven exciting races on the card. First in the order is The John Hewitt Memorial ‘Open Hunters’ Steeple Chase at 1:20pm. Our second and third races are our highest value races of the day – The Matthias Moran EBF Mares’ Novices’ Limited Handicap Steeple Chase and The RPM North Wales National Handicap Steeple Chase, both with a grand prize of £15,000 Finally, the day’s racing will close at 4:35pm with The Morogowsky Family Mares’ Novices’ Handicap Hurdle Race.

I’d like to extend our thanks to today’s sponsors – Regional Property Maintenance, Golden Sunset Holidays, the Moran family and extended family and friends. All here at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse are grateful for your support.

We next race here at the only racecourse in North Wales on Saturday 25th March 2023 for The Spring Meeting.

Tickets for all our 2023 fixtures are now on sale including hospitality bookings. You can find more information on these dates as well as book your tickets on our website bangorondeeraces.co.uk.
