Today’s racecard is made up of six races. The ﬁrst Tote Placepot, Small Stakes Big Possibilities Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 4) will begin at 1:45pm. A little later, we’ll see the Tote Never Beaten by SP Handicap Chase (Class 3) race at 2:45pm. AWAY BETTING

PLACING YOUR BET Shop around for the best odds against your selection. When you have decided on where to place your bet, state the number of your chosen horse and the stake, for example “number 4, £2 win”. Listen to the bookmaker repeat the number of the horse and the stake to his/her clerk and hand your stake to the bookmaker You will then be given an itemised receipt that gives details of the bet and shows potential winnings. You should keep this ticket safe.

At reduced odds you can back a horse and collect if it wins or runs second to the horse nominated by the bookmaker as favourite.

BETTING WITHOUT THE FAVOURITE

STRAIGHT

If your selection wins (or, in the case of a place bet, is placed), hand the ticket back to the bookmaker for settlement. NEVER destroy your ticket until after the “Weighed In” announcement has been made. There may still be a Stewards’ Enquiry and the first past the post, or placed horses, may be disqualified. On rare occasions even the horse coming fourth has been awarded the race You may bet with confidence with any bookmaker as they have all been approved by the Administration of Gambling on Tracks Ltd, which administers the betting rings at each of Britain’s 60 racecourses. The AGT also offers a full late pay service, in case a bookmaker leaves the course before you have collected your winnings.

WIN: GO ON CHEZ DANGER: FLYING VERSE RA CE 3 YCCS PORTOCERVO hasn’t been in the best form of late, but he’s beginning to look too well handicapped to ignore off 118 and a chance is taken on him to bounce back. Northern Bound was successful at Worcester in June and although he disappointed over hurdles last time, he’s respected back in this sphere. Fat Sam is another who didn’t really appreciate reverting to timber and he’s also fancied to go well now reverting to the larger obstacles.

LELANTOS appeared a horse ahead of his mark when winning here last time, and a 3lb rise seems lenient for that success so he’s fancied to follow up in what does admittedly look a more competitive contest Imperial Sachin’s struck over fences at Uttoxeter from well out of the handicap and is respected in pursuit of the three-timer here, while Bright Sunbird is another hat-trick seeker entitled to consideration in a fascinating race.

TODAY’S TOP TIPS

Gold Wing has taken to hurdling pretty well in finishing third on her first two starts in this sphere and she’s expected to go close, but MASKED MATGIL has impressed in bumpers and is fancied to make a winning start over obstacles. Tom Lacey’s filly was a good second at Newton Abbot on debut before getting off the mark at Uttoxeter in comfortable fashion so, if jumping with fluency, she is the one to side with. Sweet Auburn is also considered.

Horses having their ﬁrst start for Dan Skelton always have to be respected, and COURTANDBOULD is fancied to improve on his recent outings and can return to winning ways. He was once rated 141 over hurdles, so off 112, he looks dangerously well handicapped and the fact he’s had wind surgery only enhances his claims. Zamond was a narrow winner at Cartmel and is now 4lb higher, while the ultra-consistent Steel Wave is respected after a four-month absence.

The penny seems to have dropped for BRIDGE ROAD, who has been just denied in both starts this summer, and off a 2lb higher mark, he’s fancied to gain his ﬁrst victory The form of the Uttoxeter race that One Touch won last month has worked out well but an 8lb rise dampens enthusiasm a little, while Genever Dragon is respected after a narrow defeat on his return to hurdling at Perth.

WIN: BRIDGE ROAD

WIN: MASKED MATGIL DANGER: GOLD WING RA CE 2 C&D scorer GO ON CHEZ saw his winning run come to an end when a well-held third at Uttoxeter, but this slightly shorter trip coupled with coming back down in grade could see Henry Brooke’s mount return to winning ways. Flying Verse ran well when second at Stratford and although a 4lb rise makes things tougher, he’s respected on just his second start since wind surgery. Creadan Grae looks interesting back over fences and isn’t ruled out.

Flying Verse came out on top in the tote Never Beaten By SP Handicap Chase 12 months ago and returns on a 5lb lower mark. He returned to form when touched off at Stratford last month and could go one better at 2.45.

To be valid, requests for refunds must be received in writing within one month of the abandoned raceday. The Company shall have no responsibility or liability of any nature in respect of any refund request received after that time. 14 All persons visiting the Racecourse are admitted subject to these Regulations and to the Rules of Racing. The Management reserves the right to refuse admission to/or to remove from the Racecourse, in its absolute discretion and without giving any reasons, any person failing to comply with such Rules and Regulations or whose presence is, in its absolute discretion, a source of danger or annoyance and shall have no obligation to give any reason therefore. 15 The Company shall in no circumstances be liable for any loss, damage, cost or expense or any consequential or indirect loss or damage of any kind. PRIZE MONEY

In the event of a situation that requires partial or full evacuation of the stands or racecourse, announcements will be broadcast and stewards will undertake the responsibility of ushering you to a place of safety; it is essential that you follow their instructions. Please take your immediate belongings with you and proceed out of the area quickly and calmly with the guidance of the stewards. The above is precautionary only and we trust that the procedures will never be required. However, in the event of an emergency, remember:

17 It is a condition of entry that only individuals possessing a valid betting badge and occupying an authorised pitch are entitled to lay bets. Anyone contravening this condition will be evicted.

The Horserace Betting Levy Board General Prize Fund scheme provides for the inclusion of £238,900 at this Racecourse in 2020.

EVACUATION PROCEDURE

• Under the directions of the stewards, proceed quickly and calmly to the safe area.

The Betting Ring Managers Inspection Pitch is located in the Tattersalls Enclosure, (please see racecourse map). He will be available in each enclosure to assist in any betting dispute.

The company shall not be liable to the racegoer for any failure or omission or breach caused by an event or events beyond the control of the company such as but not limited to war, civil disturbance, order of a Government Ministry or department or public authority, ﬁre, ﬂood, natural catastrophe, royal demise, labour dispute, lock-out, withdrawal of labour or breakdown or interruption of services or transport (public or otherwise) or death or illness of a key person.

5 Any person failing to comply with instructions from a steward or police officer may be ejected from the Racecourse.

FORCE MAJEURE

6 Please observe the designated no drinking areas. Alcoholic beverages must not be carried to or consumed in these areas.

3 Refunds, other than those covered by clause 2 immediately above will not be considered unless badges/labels are returned to the racecourse, not less than 7 days prior to the race meeting and successfully resold. All refunds will be subject to an administration charge of 15% of the total refund.

GENERAL All badges, car park labels and hospitality packages are sold subject to these terms and conditions.

1.1 Upon the happening of such an event the obligations of the company and any period of time then running shall be suspended for the period of the event plus such time as may be required to resume normality.

1.2 Such an event shall not entitle the racegoer to take any steps against the company for breach or to terminate the agreement or otherwise PRIOR TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE RACEMEETING

9 Transfers between enclosures may be possible on the day, subject to availability.

10 Parking or setting down on the site is prohibited, other than at the official car parks.

The climbing of fences, stands or any other buildings is forbidden.

ONCE THE RACE MEETING HAS COMMENCED

13 Subject to the provisions of clause 1 which shall prevail over this clause, in the event of abandonment before racing, or up to the “Weighed-In” of the ﬁrst race there will be a full refund of badge and car parking costs. In the event of abandonment after the “Weighed-In” of the ﬁrst race up to the “Weighed-In” of the third race or nominated feature race, whichever is later there will be a 50% refund of badge and car parking costs. In the event of abandonment thereafter there will be no refunds. No cash refunds to be paid on the day. All refunds to be administered after the meeting by post. Where any customer is entitled (pursuant to clause 13) to any refund, in order to qualify for such refund the customer must follow the procedure listed opposite: 13.1 Make a note of the reference numbers of all badges and car park labels (these numbers will be found on the front of each badge or label).

BETTING RING MANAGER

Where badges, car park labels or hospitality packages are sold for a specified area of the Racecourse, the Company will use its best endeavours to ensure that the specified area is available for use at the specified time If however the specified area cannot be used, for reasons not within the control of the Company, then the Company shall be entitled to offer a reasonable alternative. If no alternative is offered by the Company the customer will be entitled to a full refund of all monies received from him or her by the Company.

11 Lost or stolen badges will not be replaced.

12 Hospitality badges are sold on the understanding that no money in respect of unused badges will be reimbursed.

RACECOURSE

8 Portable telephones may not be used anywhere on the Racecourse for betting purposes. Flags, banners and other articles and any behaviour such as drunkenness, abusive conduct, singing or shouting which may constitute an annoyance to spectators or distract or frighten the horses are prohibited.

REGULATIONS

Amateur photography is accepted but only without ﬂash equipment.
