Today is a ﬁxture which is near and dear to many racegoers’ hearts, as North Wales only racecourse becomes a showcase for glamour and style. Today’s racecard begins at 1:25pm with The R W Hough Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle Race. The day will begin to hit its stride at 3:10pm with The Genesis Wealth Management Handicap Chase. Finally, the days fun will close at 5:27pm with The Castle Mews Windows Handicap Hurdle. A bookmaker taking each way bets will display the terms on which he/she accepts such bets on the top of his/her board. This is a bet for your selection to win or be placed.

STANDARD TERMS FOR EACH WAY BETTING In conjunction with The RCA, the bookmakers have introduced standard each-way terms. Bookmakers will provide these terms, or better, when offering each-way betting. · Fewer than 5 runners – all to win · 5-7 runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2 · 8 or more runners – 1/5 odds a place 1-2-3 · Handicaps with 12-15 runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3 · Handicaps with 16 or more runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3-4

AWAY BETTING Many bookmakers will also take bets at the other race meetings today. They offer a comprehensive service, including bets settled TAX FREE at Starting Price (S.P.)

BETTING WITHOUT THE FAVOURITE At reduced odds you can back a horse and collect if it wins or runs second to the horse nominated by the bookmaker as favourite.

PLACING YOUR BET Shop around for the best odds against your selection. When you have decided on where to place your bet, state the number of your chosen horse and the stake, for example “number 4, £2 win”. Listen to the bookmaker repeat the number of the horse and the stake to his/her clerk and hand your stake to the bookmaker. You will then be given an itemised receipt that gives details of the bet and shows potential winnings. You should keep this ticket safe.

COLLECTING YOUR WINNINGS If your selection wins (or, in the case of a place bet, is placed), hand the ticket back to the bookmaker for settlement. NEVER destroy your ticket until after the “Weighed In” announcement has been made. There may still be a Stewards’ Enquiry and the first past the post, or placed horses, may be disqualified. On rare occasions even the horse coming fourth has been awarded the race. You may bet with confidence with any bookmaker as they have all been approved by the Administration of Gambling on Tracks Ltd, which administers the betting rings at each of Britain’s 60 racecourses. The AGT also offers a full late pay service, in case a bookmaker leaves the course before you have collected your winnings. OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a suﬃcient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were conﬁrmed. TODAY’S TOP TIPS Neil Mulholland won a division of the R W Hough & Sons Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle 12 months ago with Glendruid and the Wiltshire-based handler saddles Norman Kindu in the second division (2.00) of the race this year. In an extremely open contest, BIRD ON THE WIRE is fancied to return to winning ways after a good second at Worcester last week. He pulled clear with the winner that day and, off the same mark, Donald McCain’s seven-year-old is fancied to go one better here. Robeam has been running well recently and if continuing in that form, can go close again, but the biggest danger to the selection might be Ben Lilly, who has been running well in defeat in recent months.

LELANTOS shaped as if he may beneﬁt from the run when third here in May and, off just 2lb higher than when scoring at Fakenham in December, he looks the one to side with here with Nathan Brennan taking off a valuable 6lb. Gold Leader was slowly getting into it before falling at the thirdlast hurdle at Uttoxeter last time and looks a big player, while Corrany continues to slide down the weights and can’t be ruled out either.

Golden Taipan has been in the form of his life lately and will likely be tough to beat once again in pursuit of the hat-trick, but it might be worth chancing DIABLO DE ROUHET, who showed up well for a long way when returning from a long absence over hurdles at Uttoxeter back in May. He was rated as high as 144 over fences back in 2019 and is entitled to strip ﬁtter now for this return to the larger obstacles. Organdi is another to consider. WIN: DIABLO DE ROUHET

DANGER: MISS CHANTELLE

BUCKO’S BOY could hardly have been more impressive when winning by 18 lengths at Newton Abbot on Monday. If turned out again quickly here under a penalty, he could take all the beating in a competitive affair. Sinndarella hasn’t been seen since winning at Ludlow in October but warrants consideration on that form and she could get involved at a nice price, while Chasamax is another who can get competitive off top-weight for Nicky Henderson. Despite a long absence, some of TIME FLIES BY’s hurdle form reads extremely well in the context of this race and he looks to have been found a decent opportunity to making a winning chase debut after 541 days off the track. Mortlach looks the biggest danger despite pulling up last time in the Summer Plate at Market Rasen and he should ﬁnd this easier. Geromino needs to return to the form of his winning chase debut at Carlisle back in March, but can’t be ruled out either. WIN: TIME FLIES BY

There are a few with chances here, but LAST OF A LEGEND looks the most likely winner. She has been slightly expensive to follow, but she pulled well clear with the winner at Market Rasen last time and a reproduction of that form could be good enough today. Miss Chantelle has shown enough to suggest she can win a race of this nature and rates as the main danger to the selection, while the lightly-raced My Little Toni is another to keep a close eye on. DANGER: MORTLACH

Despite finishing well behind Bob’s Bar in third last time at Worcester, there is reason to believe that SEA PRINCE can turn the tables with that rival. That was the selection’s first try over fences and only his second start of the year, so with a 12lb swing in the weights, he can gain his revenge over Donald McCain’s six-year-old. Shareef Star had Steady The Ship back in second when winning at Newton Abbot last time and should confirm that form. WIN: SEA PRINCE

A very competitive handicap to conclude the card, but it might be worth siding with the fouryear-old BALEARIC to get off the mark over obstacles today. A smart performer on the Flat, Jonjo O’Neil’ls charge has made the frame on both his starts over hurdles and is fancied to get his head in front here at the third time of asking. Cawthorne has won his last two starts over fences and if in the same form back over hurdles, has to be feared, along with the proliﬁc Hey Bob. WIN: BALEARIC

FORCE MAJEURE 1 The company shall not be liable to the racegoer for any failure or omission or breach caused by an event or events beyond the control of the company such as but not limited to war, civil disturbance, order of a Government Ministry or department or public authority, ﬁre, ﬂood, natural catastrophe, royal demise, labour dispute, lock-out, withdrawal of labour or breakdown or interruption of services or transport (public or otherwise) or death or illness of a key person. 1.1 Upon the happening of such an event the obligations of the company and any period of time then running shall be suspended for the period of the event plus such time as may be required to resume normality. 1.2 Such an event shall not entitle the racegoer to take any steps against the company for breach or to terminate the agreement or otherwise.

PRIOR TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE RACEMEETING 2 Where badges, car park labels or hospitality packages are sold for a specified area of the Racecourse, the Company will use its best endeavours to ensure that the specified area is available for use at the specified time. If however the specified area cannot be used, for reasons not within the control of the Company, then the Company shall be entitled to offer a reasonable alternative. If no alternative is offered by the Company the customer will be entitled to a full refund of all monies received from him or her by the Company. 3 Refunds, other than those covered by clause 2 immediately above will not be considered unless badges/labels are returned to the racecourse, not less than 7 days prior to the race meeting and successfully resold. All refunds will be subject to an administration charge of 15% of the total refund.

ONCE THE RACE MEETING HAS COMMENCED 4 The climbing of fences, stands or any other buildings is forbidden. 5 Any person failing to comply with instructions from a steward or police oﬃcer may be ejected from the Racecourse. 6

Please observe the designated no

drinking areas. Alcoholic beverages must not be carried to or consumed in these areas. 7 Amateur photography is accepted but only without ﬂash equipment. 8 Portable telephones may not be used anywhere on the Racecourse for betting purposes. Flags, banners and other articles and any behaviour such as drunkenness, abusive conduct, singing or shouting which may constitute an annoyance to spectators or distract or frighten the horses are prohibited. 9 Transfers between enclosures may be possible on the day, subject to availability. 10 Parking or setting down on the site is prohibited, other than at the oﬃcial car parks. 11 Lost or stolen badges will not be replaced. 12

Hospitality badges are sold on the

understanding that no money in respect of unused badges will be reimbursed. 13 Subject to the provisions of clause 1 which shall prevail over this clause, in the event of abandonment before racing, or up to the “Weighed-In” of the ﬁrst race there will be a full refund of badge and car parking costs. In the event of abandonment after the “Weighed-In” of the ﬁrst race up to the “Weighed-In” of the third race or nominated feature race, whichever is later there will be a 50% refund of badge and car parking costs. In the event of abandonment thereafter there will be no refunds. No cash refunds to be paid on the day. All refunds to be administered after the meeting by post. Where any customer is entitled (pursuant to clause 13) to any refund, in order to qualify for such refund the customer must follow the procedure listed opposite: 13.1 Make a note of the reference numbers of all badges and car park labels (these numbers will be found on the front of each badge or label).

13.2 Send the badges, and/or labels along with a covering letter stating the full name and address of the sender and, if different from that of sender, the full name and address of the purchaser of the badges or labels to: Refund Oﬃce, Chester Race Company Limited, The Racecourse, Chester, CH1 2LY. To be valid, requests for refunds must be received in writing within one month of the abandoned raceday. The Company shall have no responsibility or liability of any nature in respect of any refund request received after that time. 14 All persons visiting the Racecourse are admitted subject to these Regulations and to the Rules of Racing. The Management reserves the right to refuse admission to/or to remove from the Racecourse, in its absolute discretion and without giving any reasons, any person failing to comply with such Rules and Regulations or whose presence is, in its absolute discretion, a source of danger or annoyance and shall have no obligation to give any reason therefore. 15 The Company shall in no circumstances be liable for any loss, damage, cost or expense or any consequential or indirect loss or damage of any kind.

PRIZE MONEY 16 The Horserace Betting Levy Board General Prize Fund scheme provides for the inclusion of £238,900 at this Racecourse in 2020.

EVACUATION PROCEDURE 18 Bangor Racecourse has enhanced Safety & Security measures to ensure your safety, comfort and enjoyment of the day. However, an incident may occur which is beyond our control and it is important that you are aware of how we intend to look after you in the event of an emergency. We employ professionally trained and experienced stewards who are located predominantly around the course and are identiﬁable by their uniform. In the event of a situation that requires partial or full evacuation of the stands or racecourse, announcements will be broadcast and stewards will undertake the responsibility of ushering you to a place of safety; it is essential that you follow their instructions. Please take your immediate belongings with you and proceed out of the area quickly and calmly with the guidance of the stewards. The above is precautionary only and we trust that the procedures will never be required. However, in the event of an emergency, remember: • Take your belongings with you; • Under the directions of the stewards, proceed quickly and calmly to the safe area.
