I would firstly wish to thank all of our owners and trainers for choosing to run their horses here today Our very own Ayr Racecourse Racing Club horse Tap Dancer runs, with all of the members joining fees having been donated to our charity partner Ayrshire Cancer Support, I hope the owners for the day enjoy their experience.

We have eight exciting races today including the first which has some hotly anticipated debutants racing for the first time and our feature race today the Tennent’s Lager Handicap at 3.42pm which has a full field to pick a winner from.
Looking ahead we have a double bill in June including our World Cup Racenight on 19th June where we will have Ayrshire’s biggest fanzone to watch the Scotland game after racing and our next feature raceday Saturday 20th June the Unite Scotland Summer Raceday which will feature the Class 1 Land O’Burns 5f sprint race one of the fastest races we have at Ayr and always graced with the top horses. If that wasn’t enough we will have Hot Dub Time Machine providing the post-race entertainment and we will also show live racing from Royal Ascot be sure not to miss out.

HOW TO BET
1. Pick your Racehorse, look around for the best odds on course, try to proffer the correct stake money for your wager
2. Ask the Bookmaker for your bet by naming the horse. The bookmaker will repeat your bet to his clerk, correct bookmaker if he makes a mistake and receive your Betting Ticket as a receipt for your bet.
3. If your horse wins, give your Betting Ticket to the bookmaker, check your winnings.
4. Check with the bookmaker when placing a bet, the Place Terms. Place Betting, not all on course bookmakers accept each way bets, ie. for a win or a place.
5. In the unlikely event of a dispute after adhering to this procedure, the bookmaker will tell the punter to approach the Ring Official, who will advise you as to your rights.
6. Some course bookmakers have minimum stakes.e.g. £1, £5, £10 but small backers are catered for in the racecourse Betting Shops.

Clifford has bounced back from a serious recreational injury to pick up where he left off last season as one of the top jockeys in the country and the rider has 3 mounts this afternoon, starting with newcome Ruler’s Pride for owners Wathnan racing and trainer Karl Burke. Lee got his Ayr season off to a winning stat at the last meeting on Burke’s Railwayman his other two mounts come on Jet Warrrior for Ben Haslam in the 2.12 and last year’s multiple winner and course specialist Cisco Disco for local trainer Mike Smith at 2.42.
