WELCOME TO AYR RACECOURSE
Welcome to Ayr Racecourse for the final flat meeting of 2026. Whether you are a first-time racegoer or a seasoned racing enthusiast, I hope you have an enjoyable experience with us today. Firstly, I’d like to thank our owners and trainers for choosing to run their horses here today your support is much appreciated, and I wish all connections the very best of luck. We crown our champion trainer, jockey and owner of the flat season today with Jim Goldie being an emphatic winner but it’s all to play for between Paul Mulrennan and Jason Hart to secure that Jockeys title whilst Summerstorm Bloodstock and Johnnie Delta Racing vie for the Owners Prize. We are grateful to Tennents, Scotlands No 1 lager, and their partner brands for their sponsorship and association with the racecourse, hopefully their guests will be lucky to pick a winner or two. Also please feel free to visit Western House Hotel after racing where Scot Nicol will play a live acoustic set between 5-8pm The next meeting on Saturday 31 October a fantastic way to start the Jumps season and we look forward to welcoming you then. I wish you a safe journey home and hope to see you back at Ayr soon. David Brown Managing Director

TODAY’S TRAINER TO WATCH - TIM EASTERBY
Tim won’t be winning the Ayr Trainers’ Championship this afternoon but the Yorkshireman is the only handler to have more runners on today’s card than our champion-elect Jim Goldie and his horses have been in tremendous form all season. The Easterby representatives will be saddling 9 runners here today with stable jockey David Allan in action on 4 of them and the Great Habton yard is fresh from having a runner in Sunday’s Group 1 Prix de l’Abbaye at Longchamp with this summer’s Listed Land O’Burns Fillies’ Stakes winner here at Ayr, Argentine Tango, which finished an honourable 5th of 15 behind the Karl Burke trained Miss Yechance. The trainer’s good run continued with 2 winners and 2 runner-up finishes at Pontefract on Monday and the yard looks like being well represented closer to home at York over the 2-days of this week’s meeting tomorrow and Saturday.

TODAY’S JOCKEY TO WATCH -JASON HART
Jason heads into today’s final Flat meeting of Ayr’s 2026 season with a 5 points lead over reigning champion Paul Mulrennan in the race to be crowned the track’s top jockey of the year and each of our two main protagonists go into today’s 7-race card with 4 rides apiece. The points system is 5 for a win 3 for a second and 1 for a third so while there could yet be some twists and turns during the course of the afternoon, Hawick-born Hart does look to be in pole position to take the prize at the end of a Flat season comprising 16 completed fixtures dating back to Tuesday May 5. Jason kept his nose in front of Paul with a winner at our last meeting here 10 days ago and he’s also the highest-placed rider in the British Flat Jockeys’ Championship riding here today with his winners’ total currently 5th behind Billy Loughnane, Oisin Murphy, Rossa Ryan and Cieren Fallon.

Plenty look potentially well handicapped on the best of their soft-ground form, including TORALOU, who makes plenty of each-way appeal in a wide-open contest. Keats House is feared most if headgear continues to have the same effect.
