British Stallion Studs will contribute £2million towards British

in 2025, bringing our total investment to £40million since we were founded in 1983

Welcome to Ayr Racecourse for our final July Monday raceday kindly sponsored by Tennents.

Whether you are a first-time racegoer or a seasoned racing enthusiast, I hope you have an enjoyable experience with us today

I’d like to thank our owners and trainers for choosing to run their horses here today and I wish all connections the very best of luck, their participation is much valued.

We have had some fantastic racing in July already, we’ve managed to pack in two family days, we’ve experienced an Ayr Gold Cup trial with a potential Group winner succeeding in that race and we’ve now got seven thrilling races this afternoon.

We were thrilled to announce that Ladbrokes are the new sponsor of what will be the Ladbrokes Ayr Gold Cup in September, previously they sponsored the race for over 20 years, and we are excited to have them back on board.

Looking forward to August 9th our feature Saturday evening is our Sounds of Summer racenight and we have top racing action together with 90’s sensation N Trance playing live after racing together with Bandioke where you get the opportunity to sing live with a real band, its one to be at

The entertainment continues in Western House Hotel after racing where Dave Galloway will be playing between 6 and 9pm you are more than welcome to pop down.

Finally thank you to all of the equine stars on show today together with the stable staff who attend to them there would be no raceday without them.

I wish you and a safe journey home and hope to see you back at Ayr soon.

Don’t forget our next meeting... SATURDAY 9TH AUGUST

SOUNDS OF SUMMER RACENIGHT

We look forward to welcoming you back!

9 Form guide 10 Age 11 Weight 12 Stalls Position

Included in the form guide below each horse is a form rating, calculated from the horse’s previous performances, taking into account a number of variables such as finishing position, distance won/beaten by, horses beaten/beaten by, weight carried, race time (compared with the standard time), going allowance, number of days since that performance, etc.

Horses which have not raced will not have a form rating, as may some horses which have raced but not recently in Britain or their performances to-date have not yet merited a rating.

HOW TO BET

1. Pick your Racehorse, look around for the best odds on course, try to proffer the correct stake money for your wager

David O’Meara has his string in excellent form at present and the team could gain further success courtesy of NAPOLIAN The son of Kodiac, who fetched 190,000 euros as a yearling, is related to a couple of useful sprinters - most notably Group 3 winner Glounthaune. It would come as no surprise were he good enough to strike on debut, while similar comments apply to the tongue-tied Shouldbeanothering Mighty Magnus sets the form standard. totewin: Napolian

RACE RESULT DISTANCES

4TH TIME

DANZAN was able to put an end to a losing run when successful over C&D last Monday. Tim Easterby’s 10-year-old remains competitively handicapped under a 4lb penalty and is taken to follow up. Mattice was another who hadn’t won for a while before scoring at Carlisle latest and he merits respect off a 6lb higher mark. Thunderstorm Katie, who finished fourth in behind Danzan last week, should not be overlooked.

TODAY’S TRAINER TO WATCH - MIKE SMITH

Local trainer Smith had a winner here last Monday with Zebra Star and the 5 yearold mare is back in search of a quick follow-up under a 5lbs penalty in our finale at 5.15 The Galston handler has 10 runners on today’s card, including unraced juvenile Lanarra in the opener at 2.00, but it’s the stable’s seasoned handicappers which tend to win most races around the Scottish and Northern English tracks and Ayr’s winning-most horse (post WWII) Glasses Up returns in his quest for a 12th course win over 10 furlongs at 4.05 Mike has 2 runners, including last week’s 4th Golden Valour at 3.30 and the yard will be busy before the 4.40 and 5.15 with Smith’s name against 3 runners in each of our last 2 races.

Boy Douglas kept on powerfully to record a comfortable success over the mile here last week and must be respected under a 5lb penalty, but it is KELPIE GREY who shades preference. Jim Goldie’s charge was progressive last term before returning with a creditable second here recently. The gelded son of Havana Grey drops in class and could go one place better. Jkr Cobbler heads the remainder.

4TH TIME

JANNAS JOURNEY has been a revelation since Danny Tudhope took the mount at Hamilton recently, and a 5lb penalty may not be enough to stop her from landing the hat-trick following her latest course triumph. Over two lengths behind the selection here last week, Cooperation (second) is expected to go well again, while Jewel Maker is another to note on the back of a creditable effort at Musselburgh.

TODAY’S JOCKEY TO WATCH - DAVID ALLAN

toteeachway: Cooperation

Allan took time out from Tim Easterby’s quest to saddle as many July winners as possible in his native Yorkshire to ride a winner on previous Bronze Cup winner Danzan here last Monday and the Irvine-born jockey is back on the same horse in today’s 6 furlongs handicap at 2.30 Danzan looks to defy a 4lbs penalty here with a Bronze Cup return more than likely in September and Allan’s day continues with Easterby’s Jewel Maker at 3.30 before he rides track specialist Glasses Up for Mike Smith at 4.05 Easterby supplies his stable jockey with another potential winner in Sweet Kiss at 5.15 and the jockey will be on board stable star Argentine Tango at Goodwood on Wednesday before a crack at next month’s Lowther Stakes at York.

Things never went to plan for HORNSEA BAY when not getting a clear run and hampered at Doncaster last time out, but the son of New Bay did well to rally for fourth, and a mark of 86 looks workable. David O’Meara’s charge gets the vote ahead of class-dropper Born Ruler, and Jujubella, who returned to winning ways with a taking performance at Haydock earlier in the month. SKI ANGEL won this in 2023 for Mike Smith who also won the race in 2022, and as she races off just 3lb higher now for a stable who target this race, she could be the one to come home in front. Fourth last time out at Hamilton after missing the start, she won at Musselburgh in early July and has every chance. Zuffolo wasn’t beaten far at Catterick and may be her biggest danger, followed by Wrestling Revenue who returns to more suitable company.

Dingwall was beaten less than three lengths in a better race at Hamilton in May, and off 2lb lower against weaker opposition, he has to enter calculations. ZEBRA STAR wandered around after hitting the front before winning over C&D last week, and a 5lb penalty may not stop her if she is produced a little later here and doesn’t get lonely in front, while Sweet Kiss could surprise in third assuming she takes to the step up in trip.
