TIM EASTERBY

13% S U C C E S S RA T E AYR RECORD LAST 5 YEARS

27 WINS FROM 213 RUNNERS

Tim is based in North Yorkshire but is a staunch supporter of Ayr Racecourse sending horses to most of our meetings. He has a particularly fine record at the Ayr Gold Cup Festival in September where he has won most of the major races. Tonight he only has one runner and that is Manigordo who contests the Book Unite Scotland Summer Raceday Handicap at 8.00pm with Jason Hart riding.

MICHAEL DODS

8% S U C C E S S RA T E AYR RECORD LAST 5 YEARS

15 WINS FROM 196 RUNNERS

A trainer whose horses are regularly seen at Ayr, Michael has made an excellent start to the Flat turf season and comes here tonight with some good chances. In the feature race the Racing TV Profits Returned To Racing Handicap over six furlongs at 7.00pm the stable representative is Woven who won a similar type of race at Doncaster earlier in the month. Connor Beasley rides the seven-year-old and he also has the mount on Berry Edge for Michael in the Join Racing TV Now Handicap at 6.30pm.

LINDA PERRATT

5% S U C C E S S RA T E AYR RECORD LAST 5 YEARS

9 WINS FROM 181 RUNNERS

Linda’s horses are beginning to hit form as was shown by Judgment Call who won the Coronation Bank Holiday Family Raceday Handicap over seven furlongs here on May 4. The gelding lines up in the Book Unite Summer Raceday Handicap at 8.00pm with David Allan taking the ride. Linda also saddles Monhammer in the racingtv.com Handicap at 8.30pm and he should strip fitter after his Musselburgh run earlier in the month.

DAVID ALLAN

14% S U C C E S S RA T E AYR RECORD LAST 5 YEARS

19 WINS FROM 139 RIDES

Irvine born David is well established as one of the top riders in the north and has a good record here at Ayr. He comes tonight to ride two horses for Jackton trainer Linda Perratt. The first of these is Judgment Call in the Book Unite Scotland Summer Raceday at 8.00pm. This horse won here last time out and loves the track and can go close again tonight. David’s other mount is on Monhammer in the racingtv.com Handicap at 8.30pm

JAMES SULLIVAN

7% S U C C E S S RA T E AYR RECORD LAST 5 YEARS

7 WINS FROM 107 RIDES

Jimmy is always a popular visitor to Ayr where he has enjoyed success over the years. He rides primarily for Ruth Carr and takes the mount on her gelding Touchwood in the Book United Scotland Summer Raceday Handicap over seven furlongs. The five-yearold was third at Musselburgh last time and should run a big race tonight.

FORM RATINGS

Included in the form guide below each horse is a form rating, calculated from the horse’s previous performances, taking into account a number of variables such as finishing position, distance won/beaten by, horses beaten/beaten by, weight carried, race time (compared with the standard time), going allowance, number of days since that performance, etc.

Horses which have not raced will not have a form rating, as may some horses which have raced but not recently in Britain or their performances to-date have not yet merited a rating.

Brando was the winner of the Ayr Gold Cup on Saturday, 17th September, 2016.

HOW TO BET

1. Pick your Racehorse, look around for the best odds on course, try to proffer the correct stake money for your wager

2. Ask the Bookmaker for your bet by naming the horse. The bookmaker will repeat your bet to his clerk, correct bookmaker if he makes a mistake and receive your Betting Ticket as a receipt for your bet.

3. If your horse wins, give your Betting Ticket to the bookmaker, check your winnings.

4. Check with the bookmaker when placing a bet, the Place Terms. Place Betting, not all on course bookmakers accept each way bets, ie. for a win or a place.

5. In the unlikely event of a dispute after adhering to this procedure, the bookmaker will tell the punter to approach the Ring Official, who will advise you as to your rights.

6. Some course bookmakers have minimum stakes.e.g. £1, £5, £10 but small backers are catered for in the racecourse Betting Shops.

EACH WAY BETTING

In conjunction with The RCA, the bookmakers have introduced standard each-way terms. Bookmakers will provide these terms, or better, when offering each-way betting.

• Fewer than 3 runners - all on to win

• 3 or 4 runners

1/5 odds a place 1,2

• 5 – 7 runners (inclusive) – 1/4 odds a place 1,2

• 8 or more runners

1/5 odds a place 1,2,3

• Handicaps with 12 to 15 runners (inclusive) – 1/4 odds a place 1,2,3

• Handicaps with 16 to 21 runners (inclusive) – 1/5 odds a place 1,2,3,4

• Handicaps with 22 or more runners

1/4 odds a place 1,2,3,4

All bookmakers must display on their boards whether they are betting each way or to win only

After making her first start for new connections at Redcar, WOOBAY is entitled to come on plenty for that highly-promising placed effort, which was her first run in 584 days. Better ground may also suit being the daughter of Starspangledbanner and she is taken to get off the mark today. Loch Carron showed signs of ability on debut just over a year ago and has switched yards since. She must enter calculations along with Maggie’s Tern, who is a major contender on the pick of her juvenile form.

In an interesting handicap it could be folly to ignore the chances of recent second Tafsir, C&D winner Royal Countess or her stable companion Flying Moon, with all three entitled to have a say in the finish. However, top-weight BERRY EDGE could be deemed unlucky when third here last month after being denied a clear run and if he gets the run of the race on this occasion, he may make amends.

ABDUCTION has well since joining his current yard and looks worth chancing after a near-miss from the same mark at Musselburgh last month. The gelding is versatile regarding the trip and, with the forecast going unlikely to pose any problems, a bold showing can be expected. Woven has to be respected after his comfortable success at Doncaster 17 days ago, but Fast And Loose (third) is not without hope of reversing that form on the revised terms.

Baez could be of interest and is worth a market check ahead of her first start for new connections. She should figure if they can bring her back to her best, and she could prove the biggest danger to PARAMARIBO The selection was a good second over further here eight days ago, despite being denied a clear run, and he can go one better now off the same mark.

Lawmans Blis also arrives after a good run last time out and he could also get into the mix.
