The Borders based trainer is in superb form having saddled a 996-1 four timer at Kelso on Saturday. He comes here this afternoon with a couple of live chances including Hatton Gardens in the opening Virgin Bet Maiden Hurdle. This horse is having only his second run under rules and looks interesting. Donna’s Delight represents the yard in the Virgin Bet Handicap Chase and is a two time chase winner here.

Ryan has had fewer rides than normal for this time of year having had a foot injury but showed he was ﬁghting ﬁt again at Kelso on Saturday when riding a three timer. He has several mounts this afternoon including a couple for Sandy Thomson who provided him with his winners at the weekend. He also rides for Mike Smith another stable who provides him with plenty of mounts.

Mike has built up a successful dual purpose yard at Galston just 10 miles from Ayr and has acquired some young jumping talent for the winter ahead. His runners today include The Jad Factor in the Virgin Bet Handicap Hurdle at 3.25pm. This six-year-old is a Newcastle hurdle winner and also run second here earlier in the year at a big price.

Established as one of the north’s top riders after a switch from the David Pipe yard a few seasons ago Conor is in great form and rode a double here at the end of last month on Wakool for Nick Alexander and Dunnet Head for Iain Jardine. He has some fancied rides this afternoon including Charm Offensive in the Virgin Bet Mares’ Handicap Hurdle.

The Nicky Richards stable can do little wrong at present and a chance can be taken with the returning GEGE VILLE, who was a comfortable winner of a bumper at this circuit last November. A winner on his latest start in this sphere at Tramore, Gordon Elliott’s Benz looks to be the chief threat, although winning pointer Ballabawn must be considered on his first appearance under Rules.

Club Enclosure – The club enclosure operates a smart/casual dress code. We cannot accept trainers, non-tailored shorts, vests, football and rugby shirts. Smart jeans are acceptable. Grandstand – informal and casual dress but no vest tops of football or rugby colours. FIRST AID The Ayr Executive take this opportunity to thank the St. AndrewsAmbulance Association for their help throughout the season. The First Aid Point can be found behind the main Grandstand. FOOD & DRINK Food and drink must NOT be brought into the Racecourse. Glasses and bottles must not be taken outside Bars or designated enclosures. HORSE CARE AT AYR At every race meeting at Ayr there are three specially qualiﬁed equine vets appointed to look after the welfare of all horses in action. During a race two vets follow the action from the centre of the course and can attend a casualty in the same response time as the Medical Teams responsible for the welfare of the Jockeys. The third vet is based at the Stable Yard where a close check is kept on all horses especially those returning after a race. MEDIA COVERAGE & RECORDING FOR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES All Attendees (which for the purposes of this clause also includes horses and for the avoidance of any doubt includes families with children) are reminded that many races and ﬁxtures are given coverage on television, radio and in print and various other forms of media. By entering the Racecourse Attendees are accepting they may appear in such coverage which may also include printed or electronic material used for the promotion of the Racecourse. Accordingly, Attendees shall have no right to object to their inclusion in any much coverage whether produced by the Racecourse or by third parties authorised by the Racecourse. Furthermore by entering the Racecourse each Attendee consents to the passing of still or moving images of them to third parties authorised by the Racecourse for the purposes of the production of printed or electronic material to be used solely for the Promotion of the Racecourse. Each Attendee will give any additional consents or waivers required for the unrestricted lawful use of any coverage (if any) without request for payment or imposing any other conditions.

MOBILE TELEPHONES & RADIOS The use of mobile telephones is not permitted except by permission of the Clerk of the Course. Bookmakers who have paid the appropriate fee may also use mobile telephones. In addition the use of any transmitting or receiving device, other than the official racecourse, Tote or Police service is prohibited. SMOKING Ayr Racecourse adheres to the government’s National No Smoking Policy. All indoor areas are No Smoking Zones. Those wishing to smoke may do so in the designated areas outside. USE OF SCREENS It is now standard practice for screens to be erected around any horse receiving veterinary attention on the ground. This does not reﬂecton the severity of an injury, but allows the vet some privacy and the horse the opportunity in a calm environment, in which to make a recovery.
