He added another Ayr Bronze Cup to his big race haul last September when Call Me Ginger pounced for victory under Paul Mulrennan. That horse lines up in today’s feature race the Bet At Racingtv.com Handicap with Ben Robinson riding. Jim will be looking to start our Flat season in style with a winner or two.
A very much in demand lightweight jockey who rides this track as well any jockey and who has built up a great partnership with trainer Mike Smith. After spending winter riding in Bahrain Paddy is back with his batteries recharged and raring to go for what should be a successful season kicking off today when he has several interesting rides including Black Friday in the feature six furlomng handicap.

Keith enjoyed his best ever year on the Flat in 2021 saddling an amazing 93 winners, 11 of which were here at Ayr. He has already started the year in fine fettle and will be looking to improve even on last year’s fantastic total. He has a big team of horses and that’s reflected in his runners this afternoon. He will be hoping to get off the mark at our opening Flat fixture and he runs Soldier’s Minute in the feature six furlong sprint at 3.25pm.
Paul is one of the most successful jockeys of all time having ridden more than 2000 winners with 100 plus of those coming here at Ayr. He enjoyed success at this fixture last year and will be hoping for more of the same tonight. His course wins here include an Ayr Gold Cup, Doonside Cup and several Listed races so it’s fair to say this is one of his favourite tracks. His rides this afternoon include Lampang in the six furlong handicap at 3.25pm.

Unashamed attracted market support when finishing second on his return at Thirsk earlier this month and the four-year-old, who gives the impression he still has more to offer, is an obvious candidate. However, STRONSAY caught the eye when sixth over the minimum distance at Catterick on his reappearance and, with the headgear back on, makes the most appeal. Impressor hasn’t lived up to his early promise but, having dropped to an attractive mark, can also make his presence felt.

HORSE CARE AT AYR At every race meeting at Ayr there are three specially qualified equine vets appointed to look after the welfare of all horses in action. During a race two vets follow the action from the centre of the course and can attend a casualty in the same response time as the Medical Teams responsible for the welfare of the Jockeys. The third vet is based at the Stable Yard where a close check is kept on all horses especially those returning after a race. MEDIA COVERAGE & RECORDING FOR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES All Attendees (which for the purposes of this clause also includes horses and for the avoidance of any doubt includes families with children) are reminded that many races and fixtures are given coverage on television, radio and in print and various other forms of media. By entering the Racecourse Attendees are accepting they may appear in such coverage which may also include printed or electronic material used for the promotion of the Racecourse. Accordingly, Attendees shall have no right to object to their inclusion in any much coverage whether produced by the Racecourse or by third parties authorised by the Racecourse. Furthermore by entering the Racecourse each Attendee consents to the passing of still or moving images of them to third parties authorised by the Racecourse for the purposes of the production of printed or electronic material to be used solely for the Promotion of the Racecourse.
