Welcome to the opening day of the Racing To Zero Summer Mile Racing Weekend.
This year is the 19th Property Raceday at Ascot, which is always so well supported by the property industry. Since launch it has raised over £3.35 million for a variety of good causes.
We extend our gratitude to the Property Raceday Committee, all the organisers, and the race sponsors Tide, JLL, Newmark, Investec, Knight Frank, and Long Harbour We hope that everyone involved has a brilliant day.
We return to Ascot today after another enthralling Royal Meeting, where we celebrated the 200th anniversary of the Royal Procession, with Their Majesties
The King and Queen in attendance on all five days. Their Majesties’ support for racing continues to shine through, and we are all hugely grateful for their continued patronage of this great sport.
On the track, we witnessed some spectacular performances including Trawlerman setting a new track record in the Gold Cup, Field Of Gold blowing away his rivals in the St James’s Palace Stakes, and France’s Lazzat defeating Japan’s Satono Reve in a pulsating, inter-continental finish to the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes
Today, the six-race card is headlined by the £50,000 Investec Out Of The Ordinary EBF Fillies’ Handicap Stakes over a mile and a half which will be run at 3.45pm.
We are also pleased to remember the original founder of the Property Raceday, Derek Lucie-Smith, in the title of our sixth race.
As part of our Racing to Zero commitment and to show sustainability in action, we have a number of eco-friendly features around the course this weekend. More details can be found in the racecard and the Sustainability Hub is located on the Cedar Tree Lawn where there is lots of information about our Racing to Zero goals
We hope you can join us again tomorrow, where the Group 2 Cornish Orchards Summer Mile is the feature race on another exciting card here at Ascot.
Yours sincerely,
Sir Francis Brooke Bt.
His Majesty’s Representative & Chairman

1st Race 2.00pm
Your guide to all of today’s races
The Tide Apprentice Handicap Stakes
Today’s opener is a one mile handicap race for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 66 to 85 In a handicap the weight that each of the runners carries is determined by their official handicap rating which is based on their level of form shown so far The aim is to ensure competitive racing by asking the higher rated horses to carry more weight than a lower rated rival. As a guide, horses rated 40 tend to be at the lower end of the scale whilst the very best performers would be rated as high as 130
PAGES 22-23
2nd Race 2.35pm
The JLL Children’s Charities Nursery Handicap Stakes
A nursery is a handicap that is restricted to two-year-olds only. In order to be allowed to take part, entrants must have already run in three maiden or novice races, or have won two races, which then qualifies them for an official handicap rating based on what they have achieved so far Quite simply, the higher their rating, the bigger the weight they have to carry This particular six furlong race is for horses which have been rated from 0 to 90
PAGES 28-29
3rd Race 3.10pm
The Newmark Handicap Stakes
Our third race is a one mile handicap race for three-year-olds which have been rated from 71 to 90 To qualify for a handicap rating horses must have run at least three times in a Flat race in Britain, or have run in no more than two Flat races run in Britain and won at least one of them. This rating then dictates the weight to be carried in a handicap In simple terms a horse rated 90 in this particular race would be required to carry 5lb more than a rival rated 85.
PAGES 38-40
4th Race 3.45pm
The Investec Out of The Ordinary EBF Fillies’ Handicap Stakes
This race is a one mile and four furlong handicap race for three-year-old and upward fillies and mares which have been rated from 0 to 90. Once a horse has qualified for a handicap rating this is regularly reassessed. A below-par effort could result in a reduced rating whilst a strong performance could see the rating increased. Occasionally, horses are entered to race before their handicap rating has been reviewed and so to avoid recent winners being un-penalised they are allotted a mandatory penalty usually 6lb
PAGES 42-44
5th Race 4.20pm
The Knight Frank Residential Investment Handicap Stakes
The penultimate race is a one mile and two furlong handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 66 to 85 Like most handicaps on the Flat this race is also open to horses that are rated below that particular band. However, all handicaps stipulate a minimum weight and no runner can carry less than that, irrespective of how low their rating is This is often described as ‘running from out of the handicap’ and is considered a disadvantage.
PAGES 48-50
6th Race 4.55pm
The Long Harbour Derek Lucie-Smith Handicap Stakes
The final contest of the day, this race is a six furlong handicap for three-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 76 to 95 Like all handicaps on today’s card this means that should a horse rated 95 take part they would be required to carry 5lb more than a rival rated 90

The BHA handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring penalties and allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicapped races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change in rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating. For novice steeple chasers, their latest hurdle race rating may be shown until such time as the handicappers allot a separate steeple chase rating. Such ratings are prefixed by the letter h. 22. Jockey’s name and photo If there is a number next to the name, this indicates that the jockey can claim that amount in weight (lbs) off the stated riding weight.
Ascot would like to take this opportunity to thank today’s race sponsors for their generous support.

Building on the success of our annual Royal Ascot Fashion Design Competition, this year we appointed creative consultancy, Colour Immortalis, to facilitate a Fashion Design Enrichment Programme across 10 local schools/colleges for students aged 15yrs+ studying textiles, fashion and/or photography.
The concept was for students to design an outfit for the Queen Anne Enclosure at Royal Ascot. LK Bennett, Official Sponsor of Royal Ascot, were on board to manufacture the winning entry, which was designed by Sofia Linares, a 15-year-old student from The Abbey School, Reading who joined us at Royal Ascot wearing her bespoke outfit.
All the fantastic entries received are on display in the Grandstand, near Entrance C, and we are delighted to welcome participating students from:
The Abbey School, Reading, Brakenhale School, Bracknell, Edgbarrow School, Crowthorne, Garth Hill College, Bracknell, Heathfield School, Ascot, Luckley House School, Wokingham, The Marist, Ascot, Ranelagh School, Bracknell, Windsor College and Windsor Girls School.

Help support the Ascot sustainability goals, by not throwing away your cup. Please return to any bar or use the dedicated bins provided.
The safety and welfare of horses and jockeys is paramount throughout the year at Ascot. In recent years we have invested significantly to improve our facilities on and off the track to ensure we provide the very best care and attention for all participants. Nowhere is this better demonstrated than in the changes made to the racing surface itself during the redevelopment in 2006.
The key elements of the project were to camber the home and old paddock bends and to remove the road crossings over the track, replacing them with underpasses. This created a safer surface for the horses, where previously some less experienced runners had occasionally shied at the differing surfaces.
Further improvements to equine welfare provision were made as part of a £700,000 project to create an enhanced unsaddling area in 2016. Increased in size to accommodate large field races more comfortably, the Unsaddling Enclosure Lawn is positioned to benefit from maximum shade from the crown of an adjacent mature tree
as well as a repositioned tulip tree, which sits to the south of the oval. Equine misting fans were also installed to aid with post-race cooling of horses.
Four specifically qualified equine vets are on duty every raceday, dedicated to the welfare of all the horses. During each race, vets follow the runners by car and can respond to and attend a casualty generally within a minute – as fast as the paramedic teams responsible for human casualties
Ascot’s two permanent veterinary boxes are supplemented with an X-Ray machine at all meetings to assist with swift diagnosis before administration of treatment on site or any movement necessary to equine hospitals. There are two equine ambulances on course at all times and three ambulances for any incidents involving injuries to jockeys
The jockeys’ facilities at Ascot include a medical treatment room, rest rooms and a dedicated room for physiotherapy.
Further information on safety and welfare in horse racing can be found at horsepwr.co.uk

Six of the last nine runnings of this have been won by 3-y-os and JANUARY, who is the clear pick of the quartet representing the Classic generation, is taken to enhance that trend. Cinderella’s Dream wasn’t at her best when beaten by Crimson Advocate at the Royal Meeting and may well reverse those placings here and emerge as the main danger

As part of our Ascot Racecourse Supports charity/community programme, we commissioned the production of The Dream Horse, an inclusive art installation created in partnership with Busy Buttons CORE Charity to showcase sustainability This inspiring project was led by Louella and Lautaro FernandezLempiainen who held hands-on workshops across four local schools, engaging 66 young people with special educational needs.
The installation is made from recycled materials sourced directly from Ascot Racecourse, including bamboo cutlery, badges, wine corks, jockey silks, horse decorations and riding equipment. Throughout the process, the students learned new creative techniques, explored different materials, and developed practical skills - all whilst engaging in meaningful conversations about sustainability.
“I found it very creative and inspiring I think it’s good that I am contributing to the project to help save the planet,” said one enthusiastic student.
The front section of The Dream Horse made its inaugural appearance at Royal Ascot and today we reveal the complete horse which is located in the Grandstand near Entrance B. The horse includes an interactive platform for photographs so please feel free to come and take a selfie!
We are honoured to bring this vision to life in collaboration with the charity and these remarkable young artists and hope it inspires a more sustainable future.
With thanks to students from Heathermount School, Ascot, Arbour Vale School, Slough, Manor Green School, Maidenhead and Forest Bridge School, Maidenhead.

TIMEFORM SUMMARY
Having defeated a couple of next-time-out winners on her penultimate start CREPE SUZETTE improved further when only just failing to get up close home on handicap debut at Salisbury (9.9f) 31 days ago. Evidently on a good mark, this further increase in trip looks firmly in her favour and she makes plenty of appeal There is plenty of strength in the opposition however, the dangers headed up by Music Piece, Orionis and Tattycoram.

This is wide open but it’s still hard to side against FAST TRACK HARRY who started life in handicaps with an excellent second in a strong contest at York and can now go one better. Hat-trick seeking Sondad rates a big danger though, while Divine Libra and Dark Cloud Rising also command plenty of respect. Another Investment, Sudden Flight and Red Sand are others who need factoring into this highly competitive sprint.

At all meetings there is a team of specially qualified vets appointed to look after the welfare of all horses. During each race vets follow the horse by car and can attend a casualty in the same response time as the paramedic teams responsible for human casualties. It is standard practise for screens to be fixed around any horse receiving veterinary treatment. This does not reflect the severity of an injury, just allows the vet some privacy and the patient a calm environment in which to recover. Please do not always assume the worst if you see screens around a fallen horse.
In the event of racing being abandoned, refunds on entrance money and car parks will only be made in the following circumstances:
a) Abandonment before the running of the first race – full refund.
b) Abandonment before the third or feature race, whichever is later – 50% refund
Where the provision of hospitality services has commenced and the raceday is subsequently abandoned there will be no refund for the hospitality.
In the event of an abandonment there is no need to contact us, we will be in touch with next steps and any required actions.
The Horserace Betting Levy Board prize fund schemes provide for the estimated inclusion of £560,463 in ratecard and incremental prize money at this racecourse from 23rd June to 14th September 2025.
