Eased in class here having struggled in a Grade 1 event last time and while she’s not the easiest to assess in the context of this race and carries a penalty, she merits respect. TFRHHHII BHA-

Gordon Elliott, Ireland T B E.A.R.L. Elevage Des Loges Gordon Elliott S TIMEFORM VIEW Has shown more than enough in half-a-dozen appearances in Irish juvenile/maiden hurdles to suggest that there are races to be won with her, not least when third in a 16-runner Punchestown event last time. Still, this demands a sizeable step forward and Old Victoria is presumably the stable No 1. TFRHHHII BHA-

Jamie Snowden, Lambourn T B John Kilpatrick & Richard Mark Venn Betvictor S TIMEFORM VIEW Given an enterprising ride by Gavin Sheehan when scoring in good style on debut in a 6-runner juvenile hurdle at Wetherby. That probably wasn’t the strongest of races (fifth has won since but the third and fourth were beaten next time) and she has much more on her plate this time. TFRHHIII BHA-

Gordon Elliott, Ireland T B S.A.R.L. Neustrian Associates Gordon Elliott S TIMEFORM VIEW Looked promising when winning the second of her 2 starts in France and while she failed to fire on debut for Gordon Elliott at Down Royal, that run can be excused given that she was found to be distressed post race. PLAY SMARTER Ready preference is for DIXON COVE, who looked a filly of real potential when coasting home on debut for Paul Nicholls at Hereford and she’s already proven at a higher level having been third in a French Grade 3 during the spring. Old Victoria, another import from the other side of the Channel, can be expected to leave her Down Royal run well behind and she is second choice. The French connection continues with Galic-raider Isaline de Chandou, who looks the clear pick of the remainder.
