VeterinaryProtocols
VETERINARYINSPECTIONOFHORSES:
1. EveryhorseinvitedtocompeteintheDubaiWorldCupmeetingwillbesubjecttoaVeterinaryinspectionperformedby theEmiratesRacingAuthorityVeterinaryOfficer.Thepurposeoftheinspectionistoensurethatahorsedoesnothave anyabnormalitieswhichcouldadverselyaffectitshealth,itsperformance,oritschancesofcompetinginitsraceat thismeeting.
2. Thiscompulsoryinspectionwillbeperformedbetweentwo(2)daysandfive(5)dayspriortoDubaiWorldCupraceday, oratanyothertimedeterminedbytheEmiratesRacingAuthority.
3. Theinspectionwillrequirethehorsetobeidentifiedviaitspassportandtobetrotted-upinhandonafirm,flat, non-slipperysurfacetoassessitsactionandtohaveitslocomotorystructurespalpatedforabnormalities.
4. Ifarelevantabnormalityisdetected,theERAVeterinaryOfficerwillmonitortheconditionofthehorseinconsultationwith anERAappointedpanelofVeterinarySurgeons.
5. TrainersareinvitedtopresenthorseswhichmayhavesomegaitidiosyncrasiestotheVeterinaryOfficerearlierthanthe suggesteddatestoovercomeanymisunderstandingonsuitabilitytoraceissues.
