DAYS 2-4 THE EARTH SANCTUARY Sleep: Hostel

Dive into expedition life, assign some team roles and meet the ground team to discuss your plans. Get ready for three days with the incredible Earth Sanctuary – this carbon-neutral centre is a pioneer in outback ecology, culture and sustainability.

Experience an Aboriginal drumming welcome, then get clued-up on indigenous culture and desert ecology.

Extend your knowledge at Alice Springs Desert Park, where you’ll see birds of prey, nocturnal creatures and learn about desert conservation.

Next up, it’s the legendary East Macs mountain wilderness. Crane your neck at Corroboree Rock, look for wallabies in Trephina Gorge and see Aboriginal art at Emily’s gap.

You’ve been to the East Macs, now it’s time for the West Macs. This secret world of gorges and wildlife sits on the traditional lands of the Arrernte people.

Discover an ancient landscape, sculpted by the elements. Look for wildlife in Simpson Gap, see the vivid colours of the Ochre Pits and cool off at Ellery Creek Big Hole.

Pile back on the bus and continue to Ormiston Gorge – this place is a haven for dingos, red kangaroos and loads of

you’ll need to dig deep and scramble over the rocks. The reward? Breathtaking panoramas and a huge feeling of achievement.

Take it turns to lead the group as you trek to the Finke River. The views on the way are awesome – you’ll be watched

by Mount Sonder, the fourth highest peak in the Northern Territory. At night, you’ll sleep beneath the stars in traditional Aussie swags.

The next section of the trail is a long one, so we’ll split it over two days.

First up is the trek to Rocky Bar Gap. You’ll camp here before pushing on to Redbank Gorge. Expect steep climbs, tricky descents and epic views.

Now for the big one – the final push to Mount Sonder. It’s uphill all the way, so

DAYS 11-13 KINGS CANYON & ULURU Sleep: Camp Travel: Transfer 7.5hrs to Kings Canyon, transfer 3.5hrs to Uluru, transfer 5hrs to Alice Springs

It’s time for a road trip to Kings Canyon – you’ll be driving through some of Australia’s most dramatic scenery.

Wake up after a night in a tent or swag and set off on the Rim Walk. It’s a thigh-burning climb to the top but the views are out of this world – you’ll be looking down on the Garden of Eden and the sandstone domes of the Lost City.

Trek: ½ day + ½ day

Thought this trip couldn’t get any better? It just did. Your next destination is Uluru – the world’s most famous monolith. Set up camp and get ready for the best sunset of your life – as the light melts away, the rock glows orange and red, then black beneath the stars.

DAY 14

After the best two weeks of your life, it’s time to travel home. Cram everything into your backpack and head to the airport.

TRAVEL HOME FROM ALICE SPRINGS

Wake up for sunrise and see the colours in reverse as the sun rises over the rock. After a walk around the base with an Aboriginal guide, head over to the Uluru Cultural Centre to learn about the First Peoples of Australia.

After a bucket-list day, it’s back on the bus to Alice Springs.

AUSTRALIA 13 NIGHT ITINERARY

Dive into expedition life, assign some team roles and meet the ground team to discuss your plans. You’re about to explore the northernmost part of the Northern Territory – a place of Aboriginal culture and wildlife-filled wetlands.

On your last day at the camp, prepare to roll up your sleeves for some conservation work. Learn about local environmental challenges, then help out with weed control and trail maintenance.

Travel southeast of Darwin and set up camp at Corroboree Park – this is your base for the next three nights.

Head out on a guided bush tucker and medicine walk, then get hands-on with Aboriginal spear making, didgeridoo demos and basket weaving.

Next up is a day of wildlife immersion at Fogg Dam, where an old rice growing project has become a thriving nature reserve. Trek through the vine forest, visit the Window on the Wetlands centre, and learn how the floodplains play a major role in the ecosystem. Finish the day with a crocodile cruise and watch as the experts entice crocs to the boat!

DAYS 5-8 KAKADU NATIONAL PARK Sleep: Camp Travel: Transfer 2.5hrs to Jabiru, day trips from camp Trek: Day treks

DAYS 9-10

NITMILUK NATIONAL PARK

Sleep: Camp Travel: transfer 2hrs + 3hrs to Katherine

Wake up for a boat cruise on Corroboree Billabong, home to the largest concentration of saltwater crocodiles in the world.

Pack your bags and strike east to Jabiru in Kakadu National Park for some serious trekking and off-road exploring. First up is the Aboriginal rock art and lookout at Ubirr – climb high for views over the rainforest and flood plains.

Your next challenge is Kakadu’s highest waterfall. Step forward as team leader and climb through the forest to Jim Jim Falls. Take care on the rocks as you descend to the plunge pool.

Hold onto your seat as you rumble down the dirt track to Gunlom Falls.

It’s a short, sharp hike but the views from the high pools are awesome, and the plunge pool at the bottom is sooo refreshing.

On your last day in Kakadu, you’ll trek beside the waterfall and rock pools in Barramundi Gorge before heading to the Ranger Headquarters to learn more about Kakadu’s wildlife wonders.

Continue your road trip to Katherine and take a look around this quirky town, where the outback meets the tropics. From here, it’s a short trip to tonight’s camp, next to Nitmiluk National Park.

The next day, you’ve got options. You could chill out at camp, join a gorgeguided boat cruise or a head out on a canoeing trip through Nitmiluk Gorge – gaze up at ancient sandstone cliffs that glow in the changing light.

The Gubara Springs trek is next – support each other as you climb to the heart of the park. Continue to the Aboriginal art at Nourlangie Rock and the Kunwarddehwardde lookout for mind-blowing views over the Arnhem Land escarpment. If there’s time, visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre on the way back to camp.

DAYS 11-12

LITCHFIELD NATIONAL PARK

Sleep: Camp, hostel Travel: Transfer 1hr + 3hrs to Litchfield Park, transfer 2hrs to Darwin

Pack down the camp and take a short drive (1hr) to Nitmiluk’s beautiful Edith Falls. It’s a steep and rocky trek to the top pools, followed by a descent to the huge plunge pool.

Pile back into the transfer bus and head northwest to Litchfield National Park, stopping halfway at the Adelaide River War Cemetery – pay your respects at the only war cemetery in Australia. When you arrive at camp, set up your tents and get some dinner on the go.

Travel back to Darwin through the national park. It’s only a two-hour trip to the city but there’s stacks to experience, so why not make a day of it – get ready for the plunging waters of Florence Falls, Tolmer Falls, Wangi Falls, and the cascading pools

DAY 13 DARWIN DAY Sleep: Hostel

at Buley Rockhole. There’s also the Magnetic and Cathedral Termite Mounds to check out.

Back in Darwin, give yourselves a lie in – you’ve earned it. Don’t snooze for too long though, as there’s loads to do in this tropical capital.

You could visit free venues like the Botanical Gardens, the Darwin Museum and Art Gallery, or the Mindil Beach Markets (Sundays and Thursdays only).

PARK LIFE THIS AWESOME NATIONAL PARK IS PACKED WITH MISTY WATERFALLS, LUSH FOREST AND THE BIGGEST TERMITE MOUNDS YOU’VE EVER SEEN.

Before the sun sets on your final day, gather the team for a final group meal. Share your favourite memories, set your friendships in stone, and start planning your next adventure.

Or you could dip into your spending money and visit the Aviation Museum to see Spitfires and Tiger Moths.

There’s also the Royal Flying Doctor Service and WWll bombing of Darwin display – get an interactive insight into two of Australia’s iconic stories.

Dive into expedition life. Assign some team roles and meet the ground team to discuss your plans, then kick off your expedition with a road trip.

Pile into the transfer vehicle and strike south to Serpentine National Park. Step forward as team leader and set the pace as you trek along the Baldwins Bluff trail through Jarrahdale’s old-growth forest. The views are awesome – you’ll be gazing over granite outcrops, woodlands and the beautiful Serpentine Falls.

After a picnic lunch, you’re heading east to Wave Rock. Around 2,700 million-year-old, this mind-blowing landmark is 15 metres tall.

DAY 3 FITZGERALD RIVER NATIONAL PARK Sleep: Camp Travel: Transfer 5hrs to the national park

Strike southeast towards Fitzgerald River National Park. Famous for its seascapes and plant life, Fitzgerald is one of Australia’s biggest parks.

Discover it with a hike on East Mount Barren. This rugged peak is part of the Barrens Range, which stretches along the coast. Choose a new team leader for the summit trek – on clear days, you’ll see the Doubtful Islands and the Barrens peaks stretching west along the coast.

Trek: ½ day

When you arrive at camp, work as a team to pitch your tents or lay out a swag and get some dinner on the go.

DAYS 4-7

Travel east along the coast to the remote town of Esperance. As you stroll along the waterfront, gaze out to the offshore islands.

CAPE LE GRAND Sleep: Camp Travel: Transfer 3hrs to Cape Le Grand, transfer 5hrs to Stirling Range Trek: ½ day + ½ day + ½ day

Continue to Cape Le Grand National Park, with its white sands and kangaroos. You’ll spend the next few days exploring on foot and discovering the best beaches in Australia – fact!

Trek from the sparkling sands of Rossiter Bay to the turquoise waters of Lucky Bay, then explore the sweeping heathlands around Hellfire Bay. Now for something tougher. Tackle Frenchman’s Peak (262m) – an iconic rock that watches over this coastline. It’s a steep hike to the top for

After your final morning in Cape Le Grand, pack your bags for the awe-inspiring Pink Lakes drive.

You’re heading east to the Stirling Range – more than 1,000 metres tall, these mountains have some of the richest plant life in the world. Grab your walking boots and head out to explore.

DAY 8 PORONGURUPS & WALPOLE WILDERNESS Sleep: Camp Travel: Transfer 4.5hrs to Walpole Wilderness Trek: ½ day

DAYS 9-10 MARGARET RIVER Sleep: Camp Travel: Transfer 5hrs to Margaret River (with stops) Trek: 1 day

Wake up to views of the Stirlings and the neighbouring granite domes of Porongurup National Park – this awe-inspiring landscape is your playground for the morning.

Hike through forests to the huge outcrop of Castle Rock. It’s a steep climb but the views are worth every step. At the top, the Granite Skywalk is just incredible – this suspended walkway traces the edge of the rock and gives amazing views over the Porongurups.

The Walpole Wilderness Region is home to some of the oldest tingle trees in the world. Deep in the forest, you’ll find legendary landmarks like the Giant Tingle.

Rest your legs on a beautiful coastal drive, with views of the Gap and Natural Bridge. When you reach William Bay National Park, stop to cool off at Elephant Rocks and Greens Pool.

Continue to the old-growth forests of the Walpole Wilderness Region and set up camp beneath ancient trees.

DAY 11 WARDANDI CULTURE & CONSERVATION Sleep: Hostel Travel: Transfer 1-2hrs to Yallingup

Strike north to the surf-battered coastline at Yallingup where you’ll meet a custodian of the Wardandi people. Learn about the world’s oldest living culture, then descend into Ngilgi Cave for an underground didgeridoo show. Tuck into some native food and experience traditional fire-lighting.

As you submerge yourself in indigenous culture, consider the importance of responsible tourism in maintaining traditional heritage. You’ll also learn how to manage resources sustainably.
