Students are capable of great things. The proof is here in this publication celebrating the honorees of the All County Pinnacle Awards, sponsored by the San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE). On these pages, you will find the names, portraits, and accomplishments of the highest-achieving graduating seniors of the Class of 2025 in San Joaquin and Calaveras counties.
For 30 years, the Pinnacle Awards have helped celebrate the excellence of each graduating high school class. It’s not just a celebration of how high these outstanding students have climbed; it is also a recognition of the challenges they faced to be counted among the highest-achieving students in the county.
“Attaining excellence is never easy. Nor is it an accident,” said Dr. Troy A. Brown, San Joaquin County Superintendent of Schools. “Each and every Pinnacle and Distinguished Student awardee has overcome obstacles and made thousands of choices as they journeyed down the path to achieving excellence.”
And it is not just in academics where these students have excelled.
These students are recognized for their achievement in three areas: academics, extracurricular activities, and citizenship or community service. As you look through this publication, you will notice how the community has been enriched by the endeavors of these young men and women.
They have volunteered with local charities, fought for important causes, and tutored and mentored younger students so that they may, too, climb higher. These students excel in sports, music, and the arts. They have earned paychecks and taken care of family members, as well.
This year we are recognizing 91 Pinnacle award winners and 193 Distinguished Student award winners, representing 38 schools. Pinnacle awardees represent the top 1 percent of the graduating seniors in Calaveras and San Joaquin counties. Distinguished Student awardees represent the next 2 percent.
The All County Pinnacle Awards ceremony is hosted by the SJCOE. Thank you to the SJCOE Educational Foundation for sponsoring this special event and making it possible.
