Texas State University System BRUCE AND GLORIA INGRAM HALL (ENGINEERING & SCIENCE BUILDING) Texas State University | San Marcos, Texas

The Engineering and Science Building houses a mix of research and instructional laboratories across multiple disciplines, biology, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing and imaging. The facility contains a campusaccessible maker space to promote collaboration, invention and exploration, and also contains testing and development spaces, and a robotics and welding studio. The five-story structure was designed to encourage interdisciplinary and collaborative learning and peer-to-peer activities.

www.jqeng.com GAILLARDIA AND CHAUTAUQUA HALLS Texas State University | San Marcos, Texas Gaillardia and Chautauqua Halls at Texas State University in San Marcos feature 185,000 SF of dormitory and multipurpose space. A two-story, 8,000 SF common space links the two six-story dormitories. The project utilized a long-span concreteon-metal deck floor system spanning load-bearing, cold-framed metal stud walls. The lateral load-resisting system consisted of both steel plate metal shear walls and concentrically braced steel frames. Texas State University System OLD MAIN BUILDING ASSESSMENT AND REPAIR Texas State University | San Marcos, Texas The partial restoration of Old Main at Texas State University provided much needed repairs to the historic classroom and staff office building. Scope included exterior envelope elements like brick and window repairs, as well as structural restoration through identifying and repairing roof substrate and rotting or water damaged framing members. RECREATION FACILITY AND POOL EXPANSION

Sam Houston State University | Huntsville, Texas

The $4.4 million project consists of a 26,000 SF addition to the existing student recreaton center. The new facility consists of three different levels, two of which provide access to the adjacent existing building. The new sports facility houses a 10,000 SF weight-lifting and fitness area, lounge area, offices, student lockers, and a 35-foot-tall rock climbing wall. The 5,000 SF outdoor pool includes a separate pool mechanical building and a fabric membrane structure covering the entire pool and surrounding deck. The civil design for the site infrastructure includes a site grading plan, the design of a storm drainage system to convey storm runoff away from the addition, the water distribution and sanitary sewerage systems, and the site paving plan. JQ’s role in the civil design also includes the realignment of existing utilities at the proposed site with outer members of the design team.
