Prosper
This new three-story, 53,000 SF town center houses the Prosper (Texas) Town Hall, a municipal court and a library. The red brick building features a Georgian Colonial design to match the rest of the historic downtown. Structural systems include drilled pier foundations, a concrete slab-on-void ground floor, and a structural steel and CMU superstructure. The building’s master plan calls for a vertical expansion within the next several years.

www.jqeng.com GRAND PRAIRIE GOVERNMENT CENTER Dallas County | Grand Prairie, Texas This two-story courthouse in Grand Prairie (Texas) houses five separate Dallas County departments and conveys warmth and simplicity. Its simple yet bold design sets it apart from typical government buildings. The addition of surface parking for 168 vehicles also was part of the project. TOWN HALL AND POLICE HEADQUARTERS
This new 24,000 SF facility includes 11,200 SF for the police headquarters, 9,500 SF for the town hall and 3,300 SF for the council chambers, an emergency operations center, a main entrance rotunda and common spaces. The design allows the conference room, council chambers and multi-purpose room to be used by the community. A clerestory window separates the council chambers from the lobby, allowing natural light into the chamber.

OLD DALLAS MUNICIPAL BUILDING ASSESSMENT AND RESTORATION City of Dallas | Dallas, Texas JQ provided structural engineering, civil engineering and surveying services for the restoration and rehabilitation of the historic 1912 Municipal Building in Dallas. Our services included repairs to the exterior deteriorated structural elements, replacement of exterior wall elements to 1912 configuration, a topographic survey of the site boundary to include location of existing utilities, site paving and sidewalk replacement, re-creation of the grand staircase and repairs to deteriorated interior structural elements and other renovation work. Government Centers MUNICIPAL SERVICES BUILDING ADAPTIVE REUSE
The project involved the adaptive reuse of a 62,000 SF former grocery store to a new, multi-functional municipal services building. The renovated building includes a City Council Chambers/Municipal Court Courtroom, a one-stop shop for development services, a public lobby, office space for various City functions, conference rooms, a kitchen/break area, restrooms, file rooms and various office space. The new space also allows for the expansion of the New Braunfels Police Department. SF $2.4M

This one-of-a-kind Municipal Center in Cedar Hill provides offices and assembly areas for the city hall and council chambers, the municipal court, and the local independent school district as well as the administration, finance, engineering, parks and police departments all in a single location. The facility consists of six buildings linked together by a circulation atrium that is constructed with an exposed steel frame and tongue and groove wood deck. Linking three of these buildings on the second level is a sepentine circulation bridge comprised of architecturally-exposed steel and acoustic metal decking.
