PERFORMANCES / SHARINGS

DINIS MACHADO (SE / PT) BARCO Dance Collection Photo: Anders Mattsson

BARCO Dance Collection is a series of short solos choreographed by artists including Robbie Synge (UK), Dan Daw (UK) and Lucy Suggate (UK). Dinis has invited choreographers to think about the possibility that the space where dance happens is not the room we are in, but within the body itself, and to create short solos with this approach for Dinis as a dancer. He will navigate through an evening of continuous dance where accuracy and embodiment are in continuous negotiation. Presented in partnership with Attenborough Arts Centre. THURSDAY 12 JULY 3PM – 7PM ATTENBOROUGH ARTS CENTRE LEICESTER LE1 7HA FREE, audiences can come and go www.dance4.co.uk Suitable for all Produced by BARCO and coproduced by Weld, Ballet Contemporâneo do Norte, METAL, Dance4 and Critical Path. Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England; and by Konstnärsnämnden, Kulturrådet and DGArtes.

DINIS MACHADO (SE / PT) CONSUBSTANTIATION A queer drag performance, CONSUBSTANTIATION creates an imaginary world of both gender and sexual ‘in-betweenness’ and their embodiment: a human body approaching an object-like gender. The show is populated with glittery costumes hacking the body with geometrical objects and materials; where stylised choreographies give place to uncanny movement patterns; and where pop songs give place to blurry identity narratives sang as a dodecaphonic opera. Presented in partnership with Backlit Gallery. THURSDAY 19 JULY 7PM – 8.30PM BACKLIT GALLERY, ASHLEY STREET NOTTINGHAM NG3 1JG Tickets: £10 (£8 concession) www.dance4.co.uk Suitable for 16+

SATURDAY 19 MAY 3PM – 5PM LOOP ATLAS IV Watch and move in a physical dialogue with Matthias’ filmed performance. SATURDAY 19 MAY – SUNDAY 3 JUNE 12PM – 5PM

Using the bodily and visceral qualities of clay, we will think about how its physicality can move and instruct our bodies into an instinctual movement practice.
