CONAN SANDERS
Education is important to Sanders. He attended Paine College as part of the Fast Track Teacher Certification Program for mathematics. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering/Mathematics from Prairie View A&M College; a master’s from the University of Northern Colorado and a master’s in Business Management from Boston University. Sanders also successfully participated in the First Tee Phase II Training and passed the PGA Player Aptitude in Valdosta, Georgia.
As a head golf professional, Sanders has served the Richmond County Recreational Department at the Augusta Municipal Golf Course. He assisted the manager in the day-to-day operations and office management at the golf course. For the First Tee of Augusta, he has conducted classes, workshops, clinics and operations. Sanders, a United States veteran, participated on the All-Army Golf Team where he played with and instructed comrades. He also had the distinct honor of becoming a Senior All Service Champion and was the first African American golfer to participate in the VOLVO International Tournament.
