1970

Michael Meacham

Michael will be officially retired from the Medical University of South Carolina effective June 30, 2020. He served as Associate Professor for Health Leadership and Management for the last 10 years. For the preceding 7 years, he was in a similar position at The Pennsylvania State University. Michael is in the process of completing the fourth book he has authored, co-authored, or edited - the 7th edition of Longest’s Health Policymaking in the United States - which will come out in October or November. He expects to stay active with adjunct teaching and consulting after retirement and is looking forward to the Class of 1970’s postponed 50th reunion next year.

1975

Kristy Harter Cosden

Kristy has moved to Suva, Fiji, where husband Darrell is Academic Dean of the Pacific Theological College. Connect with Kristy at kgcosden@gmail.com.

1977

Carol Owen Beckner

Carol moved back to Wichita from Austin, TX, 18 years ago and has been working at Intrust Bank. She is married to a wonderful man and has a son, daughter-in-law, and three beautiful grandsons who all unfortunately live out-ofstate. “No new births or jobs, but there is something to be said for continuity,” she says.

2001

Devin Sikes

In April 2020, Devin was appointed by the U.S. Trade Representative to the U.S. roster of panelists who may serve as judges to resolve disputes arising under Chapter 19 of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Those disputes concern issues arising from imports that have been unfairly sold in the United States. Devin continues to work as counsel for Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, an international law firm. He splits his time between the firm’s DC and Houston offices . He and his family recently relocated to Houston.

2002

Curt Romig

Curt, as of mid-June, survived 90 days being stuck in his Abu Dhabi apartment with his wife and three kids (ages 8, 6, and 2). They all still love and mostly like each other. Curt successfully watched all of The Office (again), read Lord of the Rings, and only gained 5 pounds.

2007

Candice Farha

Candice joined a new law firm, Penner Lowe Law Group, LLC, in March 2020. They are a full-service law firm specializing in Family Law and Criminal Law matters.

Katie Hatfield Gunzelman

Katie and husband Spencer welcomed Elizabeth Louise to their family on March 4, 2020. Libby Lou joins big brother JonJon, who is warming up to the idea of having a little sister.

Allison Harned

Allison and fiance Tyler Dick got engaged January 23, 2020, in Breckenridge, Colorado. They are set to be married September 5, 2020.

2008

Carrie Johnson Lang

Carrie and husband Michael welcomed another baby girl, Hattie James, on December 26, 2019. Big sister Tatum is over the moon!

2009

Marsin Alshamary

Marsin just defended her dissertation in the political science department at MIT and now has her PhD! She is moving to Washington DC in the fall to put her degree to good use, working broadly in issues concerning US Foreign Policy in the Middle East.

2011

Danielle Estivo

Dr. Danielle Estivo is a recent graduate of the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine and is excited to join Skaer Veterinary Clinic in Wichita, Kansas. 2012

Tyler Dobbs

Tyler Anthony Dobbs married Isabel Annette Nelson on July 20, 2019, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia. Tyler’s siblings, Gabrielle Dobbs (’18) and Michael Dobbs (’26), were members of the bridal party, as was Andrew Elkouri (’12). Guests included Edgar Corrigan (’12), Jonathan Dennill (’12), Drew Naron (’12), and Joey O’Hara (’12). Tyler is a 2016 graduate of Harvard College, and holds a master’s degree from the University of Oxford. He recently completed his first year of studies at Harvard Law School. Isabel is a 2017 graduate of Villanova University, from which she also holds a master’s degree.

Abby Boyd

Abby and Hunter Morris ‘12 got married on May 30, 2020. They originally planned a destination wedding for July 4, but moved up their nuptials due to COVID-19. Parker Tatro ‘11 was their photographer.

2017

Kevin Edwards

Kevin just finished his junior year at Stanford. He has worked for three years as a production assistant for Stanford Athletics and worked this past year filming NFL games as a Live Content Correspondent (LCC) for the San Francisco 49ers. Although he was assigned to cover only home games for the 49ers, the NFL asked him to cover regular season games for other teams as well, and the Seattle Seahawks asked him to cover their playoff games. At the end of the season, the NFL asked him to cover the Pro Bowl and Super Bowl - the activities in the weeks prior as well as the games themselves. ATLANTA AND NYC ALUMNI

Thank you to Trey Charbonneau, Lakelin Conrad, Mac Copeland, Julia Cox, Hannah Geoffroy, Jad Hourani, Gracie Moore, Gehad Qaki, and Elizabeth Schlatter for serving as our 2020 Alumni Panel! These recent WCS grads shared their WCS Upper School experiences with current 8th graders and parents. They answered questions about preparation for college, time mangement, balancing academics and extracurriculars, making good choices, safe social media use, developing “soft skills,” and making the most of our amazing college counselors.

Thank you to our awesome Atlanta and New York City alumni for attending gatherings in January and February 2020. We love seeing you and hearing about all the amazing things you’re doing! We had plans for a large KC gathering this summer, but will postpone to Spring 2021.
