Last week we honored the many contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. while showcasing the remarkable talents of our very own WCPS students! Thank you to Shanté Galloway, Will Spalding, Michael Coleman and our Equity Council for all of the hard work behind the scenes to ensure this is a memorable event for our students and community Also, thank you to Dr Martha Sales with WKU for being the keynote speaker that evening and sharing an inspirational message

COMMUNITY CENTER OF INFLUENCE AWARD
Congratulations to Warren Central High School’s Laura Thornbury, College and Career Readiness Coach, for being recognized as a Community Center of Influence by the Kentucky Army National Guard at its Recruitment and Retention Awards!
SHANE BAKER NAMED TO GLOBAL 30 UNDER 30 LIST
Congratulations to Jennings Creek Elementary’s Shane Baker for being named to the International Literacy Association’s 2025 30 Under 30 list, which highlights emerging leaders who are transforming literacy education and promoting equity in classrooms, communities and beyond!

We are excited to welcome Deputy Matt Edwards as our new School Safety Coordinator and SRO Manager! Deputy Edwards is retired from the Bowling Green Police Department and has 23 years in law enforcement experience Join us in welcoming him to Team WCPS!
NEW STUDENT SUCCESS COORDINATOR
Katie Clark has been hired as the new Student Success Liaison at Jennings Creek Elementary, where she will focus on supporting international students and their families! Ms Clark will also bring the LEAP Bus into neighborhoods to strengthen connections and provide valuable support to families
