Westchester Black Women’s Political Caucus Honors The Vulcan Society & Past Presidents By Yvonne B. Bert
YONKERS, NY -- The Yonkers Chapter of the Westchester Black Women’s Political Caucus (WBWPC) celebrated the day with a Summer Soiree at the Dunwoodie Golf Club in Yonkers on Sunday, August 23, 2026. Caucus members from the Westchester Chapters (Peekskill, New Rochelle, Mount Vernon, Greenburgh/White Plains) gathered to help Yonkers celebrate their honorees, the Westchester Vulcans, and Past Presidents of the Countywide Caucus of WBWPC (“Rooted in Legacy, Rising in Power”). The room was filled with powerful women who have guided the way for other women or who are now part of the political scene. Keynote speak-
ers for the event were NYS Attorney General Letitia James, a powerhouse in her own right, who is seeking re-election in November. Also, Adrienne Adams, former Speaker of the New York City Council, who is running for Lieutenant Governor, on the Democratic ticket with Governor Kathy Hochul. The women gave inspiring comments on the state of the nation under the present administration and stressed that we all must stand up for what is right and we must vote! This November is a crucial time for citizens to turn out and to vote in order to make the necessary changes to strengthen our
