A Word from the Director Welcome to Williamson County Parks and Recreation (WCPR).

It is my hope that you and your family are regular users of our facilities, fields and parks. If not, I personally invite you to work out in our state-of-the-art wellness centers, take an exercise class, swim or learn to paint. Take your family to one of our parks and enjoy nature on a brisk walk, play on the playground or have a picnic. Try pickleball.

Play soccer or softball on our fields. Join the community band or take part in children’s theatre. Enjoy a game of tennis on our courts, or take a lesson to improve your skills. Enroll your kids in an art class, one of our annual summer camps or swim lessons. Experience some of our year-round family friendly events and productions.

WCPR continues to grow along with the county population and now manages 30+ properties, including full service recreations centers, active and passive parks. A public service of Williamson County Government, the Parks and Recreation department belongs to every Williamson County resident. Everyone is welcome to use our facilities and attend our classes and events at a minimal cost. Please take advantage of our website and other online resources to find and register for all the many programs and events that WCPR has to offer!

Why We Don’t Offer “Memberships” Cons of “Memberships”

So What Do We Offer?

Oftentimes with private gyms and fitness centers you are forced into a monthly contract and have to pay joining fees just for the opportunity to purchase a “membership.” We believe in offering a simpler, more affordable approach to make it easier for everyone to access fitness facilities.

We offer a variety of pass options that do not require a contract, which include monthly and annual options. You can also walk in and just pay the general admission fee. Have your friends join you; they only have to pay the general admission fee as well. There are no hidden fees for guests.

Online Registration and Pass Sales How To Create Your Free Online Account To sign up for your free online account follow these steps: •

Visit wcparksandrec.com and click on the “Online Registration - Activities” button on the home page.

•

In the top right-hand corner of the new page, click the “Create an Account” link and fill out the applicable information when prompted. Please note: To create an account for a child you must first create an account for an adult.

Once you have finished your account registration you will be able to register for classes, special events, etc., and you will also be able to purchase or renew your passes online.

Registration Policy Registration is required for most classes and events offered by WCPR. •

For events with a limited number of participants, reservations are taken on a “first come, first served” basis until the event is full.

•

Early registration and payment is recommended to secure a spot in most activities and events.

•

Registration for most activities and events will begin one month prior to the start of a new quarterly session. Specific program registration dates can be found through our online registration system.

•

Registration and payment can be made online, in person at the location of your desired activity or event or at a facility kiosk. Voicemail registration is NOT accepted.

•

Payment is due with online or in person registration. If unable to attend, refunds will only be issued if requested no later than 24 hours prior to the start of the class or event.

•

Accepted Forms of Payment Williamson County Parks and Recreation facilities accept the following forms of payment with the noted exceptions.

Checks Checks are not accepted at outdoor pools or the Williamson County Performing Arts Center. Checks for general admission under $12.00 are not accepted. There is a $30.00 service charge for any returned check.

Credit/Debit Cards Only accepted for general admission and walk-in fees at the Fairview Recreation Complex, Franklin Recreation Complex, Indoor Sports Complex in Brentwood, the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, the Williamson County Recreation Complex at Nolensville and the Williamson County Enrichment Center at Academy Park and ticket sales at the Williamson County Performing Arts Center. Credit/Debit cards are not accepted at the Hillsboro-Leiper’s Fork Community Center or any of the outdoor pools. Mastercard and Visa only at Recreation Centers. The Performing Arts Center accepts all Credit/Debit cards. A 3.36% processing fee is collected for all credit/debit card transactions.

Cancellation & Refund Policy Credits, transfers or refunds will be processed upon request for recreation classes, programs, leagues and other activities in accordance with the following policy: Williamson County Parks and Recreation

Should you need to cancel your participation in a class/league/program or activity, you must notify the department no later than 24 hours prior to the start of the program. No credits, transfers or refunds will be processed after the date a class/league/program or activity is scheduled to begin. This includes uniform fees for any leagues.

2.

Whether you choose to cancel your registration in advance of 24 hours, or if WCPR cancels the class/program/league or activity you are registered in, you will be given the option of receiving a credit to your account, transferring your payment to another registration of the same value (or less), or receiving a refund by check for the amount of the class/ program/league or activity fee. Due to State Auditing/Fund regulations, any online processing fees cannot be credited or refunded.

•

CREDITS: After speaking with a WCPR staff person regarding the cancellation of your registration, they can credit your online account the amount of the activity fee. Credits are immediately effective once in your account and can be used towards any future WCPR activity registration/payment. Processing fees will apply.

•

TRANSFERS: A WCPR staff person will work with you to transfer your canceled registration towards a future class/ program/league or activity of the same value (or less). If you choose a class/program/league or activity with a higher fee, additional registration and processing fees will apply.

•

REFUNDS: The amount of the class/program/league or activity fee will be issued back to you in the form of a check.

Processing fees will not be refunded. Please allow two weeks to receive refunds processed by check.

•

Special Consideration Refunds must be submitted in writing to management staff. For more information about our cancellation and refund policy, visit our website.

Game Room Ages and hours vary by location. Check the facility location page on our website for exact ages, hours and any other restrictions.

•

Ages 5-6 must be with a parent and parent interacting with child/children.

•

Youth that are 7 years old must be signed in by their parent(s). They must also stay in the game room until the parent returns.

•

Youth between the ages of 8-12 must sign in when they enter the room.

•

Proper use and care of the game equipment is required.

•

Profanity and abusive language is prohibited.

•

All video games are screened by the WCPR staff to ensure a family atmosphere.

KidsCare This program is a “casual care” service and is NOT a State licensed day care. The service is free to parents/legal guardians only, who are utilizing the recreation facilities and amenities. Due to limited participation numbers established by state regulations, we offer this program to our patrons as a limited time sitting service, available on a first come, first served basis. This is not a guaranteed service to patron and/or facility pass holders. To view specific policies and procedures, locations and hours of operations, visit our website.

Wellness Centers No one under the age of 18 is allowed in the free weight areas! Anyone between the age of 13 and 17 must have a juvenile registration form completed and signed by a parent or guardian and must complete an orientation with their parent or guardian.

Lost and Found

Williamson County Parks and Recreation is not responsible for lost items at any of our facilities or parks. Patrons are encouraged to use our free locker service to store their valuables. If you believe you have lost an item, check with the front desk attendants.

Free Locker Service

Please do not leave personal belongings unattended in the facility (i.e. gym, wellness center, etc). Patrons are encouraged to utilize the FREE locker service located at the front desk or in the wellness center to secure valuables. If you choose to use a locker in the locker room, you MUST provide your own lock to secure your belongings.

Williamson County Parks and Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Front desk and/or wellness center locker service is available at the Franklin Recreation Complex, Fairview Recreation Complex, Indoor Sports Complex, the Longview Recreation Center, the Williamson County Recreation Complex at Nolensville and the Williamson County Enrichment Center at Academy Park.

Photography Policy Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department (“WCPR”) reserves the right to photograph classes, events, programs, and participants at any of the Parks and Recreation facilities or properties, or any event sponsored by WCPR that is located on property not owned by Williamson County. Use of photographs may be used by WCPR for promotional purposes and may be used in publications and media communications in any format as WCPR decides without any obligation to provide compensation to those photographed.

Attendance at WCPR programs and events constitutes consent to be photographed for use in print and/or electronic publicity for WCPR. To ensure the privacy of individuals and children, images will not be identified using full names or personal identifying information without written approval from the photographed subject, parent or legal guardian. If you do not want us to use a photo of you or your child, please tell the WCPR staff member coordinating the event before the program or event.

If you see a photo of yourself or a family member that you wish not to be used by WCPR please notify WCPR staff. WCPR will take reasonable steps to remove and dispose of the photograph. WCPR may not be able to remove the photograph from printed media or other existing media where the photograph may have been used, but it will refrain from using the photograph in its future media.

WCPR may require you to complete a photograph release form to participate in a class, event, league or program.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles PURPOSE Due to safety and privacy concerns, the purpose of this policy is to provide clear guidelines for the recreational, commercial, and governmental use of unmanned aerial vehicles on or above Williamson County Parks and to ensure that the use of unmanned aerial vehicles does not threaten the safety or privacy of those using Williamson County Parks (“County Parks”).

For the purpose of this policy, an unmanned aerial vehicle (“UAV”) is defined as an aircraft without a human pilot aboard, the flight of which is controlled either autonomous by on board computers or by the remote control of a pilot on the ground or in another vehicle or aircraft.

This policy is not intended to restrict legitimate operation of a UAV for a public purpose by or at the direction of a governmental unit in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (“FAA”) rules and any applicable laws. Additionally, it is not the intent of this policy to preempt FAA rules, but to operate UAVs in conjunction and in accordance with this policy while recognizing the limitations in the FAA’s enforcement capabilities.

PROHIBITION Unless otherwise exempt or permission is obtained, Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department prohibits the takeoff, landing, and operation of UAVs, on or above any County Parks by the general public without the prior written authorization from the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department. This prohibition extends to any devices launched or operated from a Williamson County owned park, as well as any launched from property outside Williamson County Parks.

PERMISSION Should any individual or entity desire to use UAV’s on or above Williamson County Parks for the following purposes, written approval must first be granted by the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Director or his authorized representative: • Use by registered licensed users on behalf of an athletic organization for the purposes of advertising. Use shall not be permitted while athletic events are being conducted or over any individual; and • Educational purposes.

LIMITATIONS ON RECREATIONAL USE Should permission be granted for use of a UAV for recreational purposes over County Park property, the UAV must weigh under fifty-five (55) pounds and the user shall comply with the following standards and rules: • Register your UAV with the FAA and mark your UAV with your registration number; • Fly the UAV under 400 feet and remain below any surrounding obstacles; • Must maintain eyesight at all times, and use an observer to assist if needed; • Never fly the UAV in the vicinity of manned aircraft; • Do not fly over persons or moving vehicles and remain at least twenty-five (25) feet away from any individuals; • Do not fly in adverse weather conditions such as high winds or reduced visibility; • Do not fly if under the influence of alcohol or drugs; and • Do not fly near or over sensitive infrastructure or property such as power stations, water treatment facilities, correctional facilities, or heavily traveled or private property.

Should a user receive permission, by operation of a UAV, the user is warranting to the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department that the operator is competent and proficient in the operation of UAVs. EXEMPTIONS This policy shall not prohibit the use of any UAV by law enforcement, emergency response, public safety, or Williamson County agencies if the use is in accordance with the FAA rules and applicable laws and the use is to provide emergency response or law enforcement services.

Use Of Metal Detectors Williamson County, Tennessee was the location of the historical Battle of Franklin occurring during the Civil War. The historical significance is an essential part of Williamson County, who strives to preserve the historical significance as well as the historical items that may be located on park property. For these reasons, the following policy concerning the use of metal detectors must be adhered.

The use of any mineral or metal detecting device capable of detecting the underground location of metal, geological, archaeological, or any historical objects or materials is strictly prohibited except for an individual engaged in a limited search for a lost item under supervision of a Park Superintendent. The destroying, digging, cutting, removing, defacement, alteration, or possession of any tree, shrub, or other plant or removal of any small item or materials is prohibited within any county park or upon any county property. Any recovered item(s) must be presented and reported to the Park Superintendent. All property found that is not the lost item described by the individual shall be turned over to the Park Superintendent and shall be deemed Williamson County property. Permission to use a metal detector to find lost items is granted in the sole discretion of the Parks and Recreation Director and any property that is damaged looking for the lost item shall be the responsibility of the individual.

Should permission be granted by Williamson County Parks and Recreation, the metal detectorists shall not disturb sprinkler heads, pipes, irrigation system components, or any other infrastructure above or below ground. Individuals damaging or destroying Williamson County property shall be responsible for all costs to repair or replace the property. Any permissible metal detecting shall not interfere with reserved activities, organized sporting activities, or other park users or activities.

A hand tool for digging purposes is permitted. Holes shall be no more than six-inches in depth. Any holes created must be refilled immediately. Failure to comply with this condition will result in the revocation of metal detecting approval.

The following uses shall be exempted from the prohibitions contained in paragraph B, but shall still be subject to paragraph C. 1.

A County approved archeological or historical investigation.

2.

Educational based program or class.

3.

State sponsored historical endeavors.

4. Request by a local law enforcement agencies conducting an investigation.

Any questions concerning this policy shall be directed to the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department.

Facility Age Requirements FACILITIES Please note the following policy regarding minors using indoor facilities.

•

Children 12 years of age and younger MUST be accompanied by an adult, 18 years or older. Parents’ discretion is advised.

•

Children between the ages of 8 and 12 years may be allowed to utilize various activity areas without parental supervision at certain locations, with the understanding that the parents will remain on the premises at all times their children are in the facility.

EXCEPTION: Children ages 0-5 years are not permitted on the indoor walking track, and children ages 6-9 years must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older. Children 12 years of age and younger using the indoor or outdoor pools MUST be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older.

LOCKER ROOMS •

Children age 4 or younger (of opposite gender) may go into a locker room with parent/guardian present.

•

Adults and children age 5 and up must use the appropriate locker room of same gender.

•

Family dressing room(s) available.

RACQUETBALL COURTS • •

Ages 0-12 are allowed on the courts at anytime with a parent(s). Parent(s) need to play with child/children.

Only four individuals on a court at a time.
