UPCOMING PROJECTS AROUND THE PARKS Parking Lot Closures at County Farm Park and the Meri Lou Murray Recreation Center Parking lot improvements at Meri Lou Murray Recreation Center and County Farm Park will begin in early September. Park patrons may encounter lot closures over the next several weeks at these two popular locations while crews reconstruct and improve the parking lots. Follow applicable signs for access to the facilities. Although the lots may be partially inaccessible at certain times, both County Farm Park and Meri Lou Murray Recreation Center will be open throughout the project. Border to Border Trail (B2B Trail) Project Updates The Washtenaw County Parks Commission along with our trail partner, Huron Waterway Pathway Initiative (HWPI), are working with the City of Chelsea on a B2B Trail segment connecting 1.5 mile segment of trail to Chelsea’s Timbertown and Veteran’s Park as part of their greenway network. If you haven’t checked it out yet, visit the new Border to Border Trail website at B2BTrail.org. New Disc Golf Pavilion at Independence Lake County Park A new, permanent pavilion is being constructed at the Red Hawk Disc Golf course located at Independence Lake County Park. The course has experienced a significant increase in volume of play and tournaments over the past few years and the new pavilion will handle the large number of participants playing the sport. The new 25’ x 65’ pavilion is expected to be completed early this Fall. Enjoy the final days of Summer and make time to visit Washtenaw County Parks this Fall.
