Throughout 2022, WCNY is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Classic FM, still Central New York’s only choice for outstanding classic music programming. This summer, we ask you to help support our Classic FM 50th Anniversary Fund. Join a community of neighbors who, like you, share an appreciation for classical music, and support WCNY’s mission to share this beloved music that spans the centuries. Your donation guarantees that both timeless classics and new treasures are discovered and appreciated by a new and growing audience. It supports our region’s classical music artists. It encourages a new generation of classical music lovers in Central New York and beyond. It also sustains our popular local specialty programming like, “Ciao!,” “Sounds of Jazz,” “Bluegrass Ramble,” “Feminine Fusion,” and “Fresh Ink.” ListenLearn-Love, and please help support the next 50 years of Classic FM today. Call 800-451-9269, or visit wcny.org/50th.

Also, throughout July and August, Classic FM gives YOU the annual opportunity to help shape our radio playlist, by casting your vote for our Top-50 listener favorites. Take a look at the ballot included in this edition of CONNECT, then go to wcny.org/radio/Top-50 to choose YOUR Top-50 favorites. We will tally the votes, publish the Top-50 online, and count down those Top-50 pieces for you live during Classic Choices, starting Labor Day morning. It’s your chance to have a direct say in the great classical music you hear on Classic FM!

Finally for this edition of Liner Notes, we want to sincerely thank our partners at Symphoria for a wonderful event on Saturday, May 14. Classic FM Night at Symphoria (see below) brought together members of the Classic FM team, our valued underwriters, and even some lucky listeners, for an evening of Pops featuring the incredibly talented Doo Wop Project. It was all capped off by a post-concert dessert reception at the Civic Center. Thanks to all who helped make this a very special night!

As always, thank you for your support, and thank you for listening to Classic FM!
