Day 1 (Monday) Staunton

Sit back and relax as we travel to Staunton for the first night on our tour. D

Day 2 (Tuesday) Gettysburg

This morning we will visit Harpers Ferry National Historic Park. After our visit, we’ll continue on to Gettysburg, where we have reservations for the next two nights. We will tour the town! CB, D

Day 3 (Wednesday) Gettysburg

We begin our day with a tour of the park with a local guide. We will also do a tour of Historic Gettysburg. CB

Day 4 (Thursday) Philadelphia

This morning we are off to Philadelphia, where we will spend the next three nights. We’ll begin our time in Philadelphia with a tour to Valley Forge Historical Park, the site of the Continental Army encampment during the winter of 1777–1778. The park features 3,500 acres of monuments, meadows, and woodlands commemorating the sacrifices made during the Revolutionary War. Our next three nights will be downtown. CB

Day 5 (Friday) Independence Mall

Today we will tour the area around the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Congress Hall, Christ Church, and the Betsy Ross House. Our local guide will be with us on this day as we step back into an important place in our nation’s history. CB, D

Day 6 (Saturday) Longwood/Winterthur Mansion

Today, we will visit Longwood Gardens. Once the estate of industrialist Pierre S. du Pont, Longwood is famous for its superb grounds that include two lakes, fountains, and a formal rose garden. The Peircedu Pont House was occupied until 1954 and contains an exhibit tracing the 300-year historical and horticultural evolution of Longwood Gardens. This afternoon we visit the Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library, which houses one of the richest collections of Americana in the United States. CB, D

Day 7 (Sunday) The Greenbrier

After we leave Philadelphia, we are off to The Greenbrier, where we have reservations for the next two nights. The resort has been “America’s Resort” since 1778. During our time at the resort, schedule a tee time for the following day! CB, D

Day 8 (Monday) The Greenbrier

Today will be a day to enjoy the resort! We have a time to see the historic Bunker at The Greenbrier. You will be able to enjoy all “America’s Resort” has to offer. B

Day 9 (Tuesday) Home

Today we’ll make the journey back home. B
