Saving & Attaching Images to Halcyon Referral Form
The new Halcyon form for Skin Lesions Referrals will not allow submission of any referral that is either: a) Pigmented, and has no photos b) Non-pigmented, with no photos or histology Essentially, all referrals must have photo attachments.
Photo Guidelines:
1. 1 x Photo to indicate the location of lesion
2. 1 x Photo with a ruler to indicate size
3. If possible, 1 dermoscopic photo (can be a macro photo if dermoscopy is not available).
To support practices in this process – please see below step-by-step guide to attaching images to Halcyon claim from practice desktop.
All PMS
The Halcyon form opens a generic file-upload window that allows the user to access images anywhere on their computer. There should be no ‘blocking’ of accessing images from anywhere on your computer unless IT teams have implemented something to block this.
Step 1 – Take Photograph
Use digital camera/phone to take relevant photos for Skin Lesion Claim.
Step 2 – Save Photo to Computer
Using a USB Cable
The easiest way to save images from a phone/digital camera is to:
1. Use a USB cable to connect your device to the PC.
2. In the search box on the taskbar, type photos and then select the Photos app.
3. Select Import from the app bar.
4. Your devices will automatically show under Import.
5. Choose your device from the list of connected devices.
6. Wait for the content to load from your device.
7. Select the photos and videos you would like to import.
8. Choose the location of the destination folder for import (e.g. “Downloads” or any other relevant secure location.)
9. Select Confirm to import the photos from the device to the computer.
Note for iPhone: If you are having trouble with your iPhone import, make sure your device is unlocked and you’ve accepted the permissions.
Note for Android and other devices: If you’re using an Android phone or other device and import isn’t working, you might need to change your phone’s USB settings from “Charging over USB” to “Transfer Files/ Transfer Photos”
Via Email Attachment

An alternative option if you do not use a USB cable is to email the images to your email address that you access from your computer, then save them on your computer files from there.
To save images from an email attachment to the computer:
1. Log in to your e-mail account and open the message containing the attachment(s) you want to download.
2. The attachments are above the body of the message Move your mouse over the right side of the attachment and click the down arrow that appears
3. From the drop-down menu that appears, select Download.
4. A prompt appears to let you know when the download is complete. This file will now be found in your “Downloads” folder on your computer. If you want to save it elsewhere, you can drag and drop the file to another folder.
Step 3 – Upload image to Patient File
Now the images are saved on your computer, you can upload them to the patient file following your usual process within your PMS.
Step 4 – Upload image to Halcyon Claim Form
On the Halcyon Skin Lesion Referral Form – under the “Lesion 1” tab, navigate to “Select Images” and click – “Add File”. (Screenshot below)
This will then pop up with a box which allows you to navigate to where the images are saved on your computer – e.g. “Downloads” folder (or any other location where you chose to save the image)
Once you have found the relevant location, select the image file, and click “Open”
