It is a privilege once again to welcome Water Polo players, coaches, officials, parents, and supporters to Wynberg Boys’ High School for the 18th edition of this outstanding Water Polo tournament. Over nearly two decades, this event has become a highlight on the schools’ sporting calendar, a celebration not only of competition, but of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and the lifelong friendships that our game inspires.
As Patron, I am continually impressed by the enthusiasm of our young athletes and the dedication of their coaches and managers. I salute Wynberg Boys’ High School for their tireless organisation and vision in maintaining the highest standards both in and out of the pool. To the players: cherish every match. Play hard, play fair, and respect your teammates, opponents, and officials.
These are the values that will serve you long after the final whistle. To the officials and volunteers: thank you for giving your time and expertise to ensure this event runs smoothly Without you, tournaments like this would not be possible. Once again, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Claudia Levarelli, Siobhan Bruce-Cook, and the local organising committee for all the hard work in putting together another fantastic water polo tournament A big thank you must also go to Chris Merrington for all his hard work behind the scenes, making sure all the social media is covered.
They have all worked tirelessly, going far and beyond to ensure that everybody has a rewarding experience and continue to deliver the best water polo tournament in the country.
Finally, may this year’s tournament be remembered for great goals, great saves, and even greater sportsmanship. Best of luck to every team participating.
