LEAGUE NEWS

Wagga Bowling & Entertainment Centre Monthly Edition #2 WAGGA BOWL HOSTS THE 3RD ROUND FOR THE MID-COUNTRY TOURNAMENT June 20th-21st brought in bowlers from all around the region to participate in the 3rd round for the Mid-Country Tournament. Wagga Men’s team started the event 27 points behind Orange and managed to catch up with only 2 points shy from 2nd place, but with a 61 point lead from fourth place!

The Men’s Team averaged 198 on Saturday and 210 on Sunday. Currently standing, Bathursts take the lead with 277 pts followed by Orange 238 pts, Wagga 234 pts, Dubbo 173 pts & Griffith 156 pts. The Ladies Team have been maintaining a strong game throughout the competition and are currently in first place on 285 pts followed by Orange 270 pts, 3rd Dubbo 254 pts & 4th Griffith 199 pts. The next round for Mid-Country will be held in Orange 8th-9th August.

Current Season UPCOMING Top Scores TOURNAMENTS Bowling for 10 days in Brisbane for ANTHONY & ERICA BOWL FOR TBA DISABILITY CHAMPIONSHIPS IN BRISBANE, QLD the TBA disability championships, Anthony Woodward & Erica White competed against hundred of other bowlers. Anthony placed 4th and Erica placed 42nd in the B-Grade divisions.

RIVERINA OPENS

The first weekend of July will be boasting with bowlers from all around the state competing for the Riverina Title. Additionally over $3,700 will be up for grabs between 1st-12th place. If you are still contemplating about entering, it is not too late to sign up! Entry is $180

EVENTS IN THE PLANNING!

Over the coming months we will be releasing more and more social events and activities. To add to our range of activities at Wagga Bowl we will be adding in a balloon net on the ceiling which will be filled with hundreds of balloons filled with lots of little goodies and prizes! On allocated times and dates we will be releasing the net for our customers to enjoy catching and popping balloons in a wild rush to get lots of prizes.

These prizes will range from small lollies and toys or on special occasions major prizes!

Additionally we will be holding a special 50’s pin-up Ladies Night during late August. This event will be featuring unlimited bowling, cocktails, photo-booths, special prizes and more in the planning. So start organising your pin-up outfits and keep an eye for further announcements about this event. You wont want to miss this one!

This month we have also been approved for extended hours on our liquor license! Before we were only able to serve until 10PM, now we can serve until 12AM.

Well the last month has been another active one for bowling, and the centre in general! Well done to both our Women’s and Men’s Mid-Country bowling teams. Both teams had a fantastic result in the Wagga round of the mid-country tournament, with the men moving closer to the top rankings, and the women maintaining their strong place in the competition! Congratulations to Anthony Woodward and Erica White for their fantastic performance at the recent TBA National Disability Championships, with Anthony ranking 4th in pool B and Erica ranking 42nd in pool B. This was a fantastic effort from a huge amount of entrants! Everyone will have seen the new menu, and we hope you are all enjoying it, especially the addition of Fiesta Fridays! If you think you can handle the heat, come, sign your life away and try the El Toro Burrito or Cartel Wings challenge!!! We look forward to the Riverina Open being held this weekend, a multi-pattern tournament that will challenge all, bringing bowlers from all over to experience what Wagga can offer! Good luck to all the Wagga Bowlers trying their luck this weekend. We wish you all the best!! We are also playing host to the Eastern University Games 2015 from July 6-9. This event will bring hundreds of university students from up and down the eastern seaboard to Wagga, and we look forward to welcoming them to Wagga Bowl!

Over the coming months we will be hosting an AGM for all our league members.

Although a set date hasn’t been allocated, we will be expecting it within the near future. The purpose of the AGM is to develop the centre association and committee of your peers to represent the leagues.
