Within these gatherings what always brought everybody together was the food; the flavors passed down from grandmother, to mother, to daughter and all the cousins, uncles, aunts and friends in between. So, right from the early years of her upbringing she was no stranger to cooking and helping in the kitchen and that’s how she got to where she is today; an accomplished cook with an arsenal of dishes to teach you all. Vani believes that at its core, cooking is akin to meditation or yoga. She tries to convey this idea through each example of her teaching endeavors, and to herself every time she lights the stove.
