Words of Welcome
+ Call to Worship
Small as a mustard seed and lofty as a cedar.
The kingdom of God is growing. While we sleep and rise night and day. The kingdom of God is growing.
The low are brought high; the high are brought low. The kingdom of God is growing, its large branches are home to all kinds of people!
Stanley Vann (1910-2010)
+ Hymn 663:
MORNING HYMN Awake, My Soul, and with the Sun
+ Call to Confession
+ Prayer of Confession
Gracious God, we so often miss your kingdom at work among us. Captivated by power and prestige, we overlook the mustard seeds you have planted all around. Forgive us for failing to notice where and how you are at work. Forgive us when we work against your plans and purposes— fostering divisions when you have called us to a ministry of reconciliation; beset by apathy when the world has such deep needs; building walls to keep people out when your branches offer generous nests. Help us to grow in faithfulness, we pray, so that we might reach our fullest height of faith. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.
+ Declaration of Forgiveness
Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.

Sermon | Rev. Christopher Holland
Time for Reflection
Affirmation of Faith | 1 Cor. 15:1–6; Mark 16:1–9; Matt. 16:16; Rev. 22:13; John 20:28
This is the good news which we have received, in which we stand, and by which we are saved, if we hold it fast: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day, and that he appeared first to the women, then to Peter, and to the Twelve, and then to many faithful witnesses. We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus Christ is the first and the last, the beginning and the end; he is our Lord and our God. Amen.
