Father , I Adore You Terrye Coelhio

Father/Jesus/Spirit, I adore You; Lay my life before You. How I love you!

+ Call to Worship

Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God all my life long. Happy are those whose help is the God of Jacob, who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them. Who executes justice for the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free and lifts up those who are bowed down. The Lord watches over the stranger and upholds the orphan and widow. The Lord will reign forever.

Praise the Lord!

+ Call to Confession

+ Prayer of Confession

Forgive us, O Lord, when we think too highly of ourselves and clamor for privilege and honor. Forgive us, Lord, when we believe that we do not have anything to give. Forgive us for our lack of trust in you and the ways that we hurt each other and those around us. Have mercy on our foolishness, heal our brokenness, and empower us by your Holy Spirit to live faithfully for you. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

+ Declaration of Forgiveness

In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Thanks be to God.

Scripture Reading | Mark 12:41-44

Anthem | 9:30AM Westminster Choir | 11:00AM Quartet

10 , 000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)

The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning, it’s time to sing your song again. Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me , let me be singing when the evening comes. Bless the Lord , O my soul , worship his holy name. Sing like never before , O my soul; I’ll worship your holy name. You’re rich in love , and you ’ re slow to anger; Your name is great, and your heart is kind. For all your goodness, I will keep on singing ten thousand reasons for my heart to find. Refrain. And on that day when my strength is failing; the end draws near , and my time has come; Still my soul will sing your praise unending: ten thousand years, and then for evermore! Refrain.

Sermon | Rev. Ryan Balsan | “Your Two Cents”

Time for Reflection

+ Affirmation of Faith | From A Brief Statement of Faith

God’s reconciling act in Jesus Christ is a mystery which the Scriptures describe in various ways. It is called the sacrifice of a lamb, a shepherd’s life given for his sheep, atonement by a priest; again it is ransom of a slave, payment of debt, vicarious satisfaction of a legal penalty, and victory over the powers of evil. These are expressions of a truth which remains beyond the reach of all theory in the depths of God’s love for humankind. They reveal the gravity, cost, and sure achievement of God’s reconciling work. The risen Christ is the savior of all people. Those joined to him by faith are set right with God and commissioned to serve as God’s reconciling community. Christ is head of this community, the church, which began with the apostles and continues through all generations. + Response of

For the Autumn Sky

Ruth Elaine Schram

For the sky, for the autumn sky with its crisp, chill breeze; for the wind , for the autumn wind blowing through the trees; for the leaves , for the colored leaves gently to the earth; Lord , we thank you. For the sun , for the golden sun and the gentle rain; for the seed , for the fertile seed that has grown to grain; for the feast , for the harvest feast we enjoy this time of year; Lord , we thank you. For the beauty of the seasons everchanging, always a reminder you are evermore the same. For the bounty of the harvest; for the blessings you so freely give; we thank you, and we praise your holy name. For our Son , for your precious Son who has set us free; for your gift of abundant life for eternity; for your boundless love and amazing, saving grace; Lord , we thank you.
