+ Please stand as you are able.

Prelude | Melanie Eberhard, organ

Sonata No. 4 in E Minor: II. Andante (BWV 528)

+ Call to Worship

J.S. Bach (1685-1750)

TheLordis my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? TheLordis the strongholdof my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When evildoers assail me to devour my flesh— my adversaries and foes—they shall stumble and fall. For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will set me high on a rock.

+ Hymn 353: SOLID ROCK My Hope is Built on Nothing Less

+ Call to Confession

+ Prayer of Confession

Merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart and mind and strength. We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. In your mercy forgive what we have been, help us amend what we are, and direct what we shall be, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name. Amen.

+ Declaration of Forgiveness

Hear the good news! Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us.

Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know that you are forgiven and be at peace. Thanks be to God.

+ Response of Praise: Hymn 581

GLORIA PATRI

+ Passing of the Peace

The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. And also with you.

Sermon | “Lost & Found” | The Rev. Ryan Balsan

Time for Reflection

+ Affirmation of Faith | The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descendedinto hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Fatheralmighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holycatholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN

2026 STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN 2026

One of the greatest joys in congregational life is to see how, when we give, serve, pray, and work together, we are able to do so much more than any one of us could do on our own. When we minister together, we are reminded again and again that "this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us. ” (2 Corinthians 4:7). For us to be all that God intends for Wayne Presbyterian Church to be, it is important that we are all part of our shared ministry. At Wayne, we are fortunate to be part of a generous, caring, and mission-focused congregation. As we begin our stewardship season, you are invited to prayerfully consider what you will give and how you will be part of all that God is doing here, through service, prayer, and giving. If you haven’t already, you will soon receive a letter in the mail with an opportunity to respond with your pledge for the coming year. If you would like to pledge online, you can do that any time by scanning the QR code or visiting our website. Thank you for your faithful generosity.

THANK YOU

Thank you to our guest organist, Melanie Eberhard, and our acting Director, Ryan Fleming, both for stepping in on behalf of John Grecia, who is out on vacation today. Melanie and Ryan, your dedication to our congregation and your many talents are both sincerely felt and appreciated.
