+ Call to Worship
Praise the Lord!
Praise, O servants of the Lord; praise the name of the Lord!
From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised. The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens. Let us worship God together.
+ Hymn 662: RATISBON Christ , Whose Glory Fills the Skies
+ Call to Confession
+ Prayer of Confession
God, you have caught us in our sinful behavior. We come to you with the hope for your restoration. We walk with our heads held high, without noticing others and their burdens. We are even blinded to our own burdens and sins! We keep silence when we have stories to share of all the good things that you have done for us. We ignore the needs of the world, doing nothing to overcome them.
Fill us with your peace, and grant us your mercy. Free us from the destruction of sin and restore us to life as we walk with you. Amen.
+ Declaration of Forgiveness
The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance: Christ Jesus died to save sinners. He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might be dead to sin and alive to all that is good. Friends, believe the Good News: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God!

+ Passing of the Peace
The peace of Christ be with you. And also with you.

Sing to God
Robert Leaf (1936-2005)
Sing to God a joyful new song, Sing to God a joyful song. Come before him with thanksgiving. By his hand came all creation , from his love came our salvation. God is great and God is glorious, God is truth and God is love. God is God above all others. Come before the Lord , our maker , come on bended knee to God. As a shepherd, he will lead us. We as sheep will follow him. Sing to God a joyful new song, Come before our God and sing. - based on Psalm 95
Sermon | “Under Control” | The Rev. Ryan Balsan
Time for Reflection
Affirmation of Faith | The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Offertory Anthem | Summer Chancel Choir
Draw Us in the Spirit’s Tether Harold W. Friedell (1905-1958)
Draw us in the Spirit’s tether; For when humbly, in thy name , two or three are met together, Thou art in the midst of them: Alleluya! Alleluya! Touch we now thy garment’s hem. As the brethren used to gather in the name of Christ to sup, then with thanks to God the Father Break the bread and bless the cup, Alleluya! Alleluya! So knit thou our friendship up. All our meals and all our living Make as sacraments of thee , that by caring, helping, giving, we may true disciples be. Alleluya! Alleluya! We will serve thee faithfully - Percy Dearmer (1867-1936)
