+ Call to Confession

+ Prayer of Confession

Merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart, mind, and strength. We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. In your mercy, forgive what we have been, help us amend what we are, and direct what we shall be, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways. Through the name of Christ Jesus, we pray. Amen.

+ Declaration of Forgiveness

Friends, our God is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. Friends, believe the Good News: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God.

Time for Reflection

Affirmation of Faith | The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Rejoice in the Lord Away Henry Purcell (1659-1695)

Rejoice in the Lord away, and again I say rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God , which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We are grateful for the opportunity to hear the word of God through Rev. Dr. Sally’s ministry, and are honored to welcome her to our pulpit this morning.
