+ Hymn 299: HANOVER You Servants of God , Your Master Proclaim

*Please stand at the beginning of the introduction for each hymn.

+ Call to Confession

+ Prayer of Confession

Most merciful God, we have strayed away from you like lost sheep. Instead of following where you call us to go, we follow the desires of our own hearts. Along the way of our misguided path, we have harmed others with our words and by our actions. Forgive us all the things we have left undone, as well as our neighbors in need whom we have ignored. As you are the God who seeks us when we are lost, we implore you to find us again. Guide us back into your loving embrace and raise us up to serve you in newness of life, to the glory of your name. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.

+ Declaration of Forgiveness

Hear the Good News of the Gospel: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.

Time for Reflection

Affirmation of Faith | The Confession of 1967

Wherever the church exists, its members are both gathered in corporate life and dispersed in society for the sake of mission in the world. The church gathers to praise God, to hear God’s word for humankind, to baptize and to join in the Lord’s Supper, to pray for and present the world to God in worship, to enjoy fellowship, to receive instruction, strength, and comfort, to order and organize its own corporate life, to be tested, renewed and reformed, and to speak and act in the world’s affairs as may be appropriate to the needs of the time. continued on next page

The church disperses to serve God wherever its members are, at work or play, in private or in the life of society. Their prayer and Bible study are part of the church’s worship and theological reflection. Their witness is the church’s evangelism. Their daily action in the world is the church in mission to the world. The quality of their relation with other persons is the measure of the church’s fidelity.

Offertory Anthem | 9:30AM Chancel Choir | 11:00AM Quartet + Choral Scholars Prayer of St. Brigid Ryan Kelly (b. 1980)

I should like a great lake of finest ale for the King of kings. I should like a table of the choicest food for the family of heav’n. O let the ale be made from fruits of faith , and the food be forgiving love. I should welcome the poor to my feast , for they are God’s children. I should welcome the sick to my feast , for they are God’s joy. Let the poor sit with Jesus at the highest place, and the sick dance with the angels. God bless the poor, God bless the sick , and bless our race. O God bless our food , God bless our drink , and embrace all homes. O God , embrace. - St. Brigid of Kildare, c. 451-525
