+ Call to Worship I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together. + Hymn 267: Come, Christians, Join to Sing
MADRID
+ Call to Confession + Prayer of Confession Spirit of God, we confess that we put on airs more often than we put on the armor of God. We are guilty of girding ourselves with lies instead of the truth. We try to protect ourselves with arrogance, superstition, and self-reliance instead of righteousness, faith, and your gift of salvation. Our footsteps do not follow your path of peace. And we are quick to use your Word to attack one another, instead of striking out against the sins we personally commit. Forgive us, Holy God. Gift us with the wisdom and strength to change our ways, so that we may live as your faithful ambassadors of the Good News. + Declaration of Forgiveness The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all. Know that you are forgiven and be at peace.
+ Response of Praise
GLORIA PATRI (Greatorex)
+ Passing of the Peace The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. And also with you. Scripture Reading | Ephesians 6:10-24 | NT, p. 151 Anthem | Octet Tune: Captain Kidd/Sacred Harp (1850) God is Seen Arr. Alice Parker (1925-2023) Through all the world below, God is seen all around; search hills and valleys through, there He's found. The growing of the corn, the lily and the thorn, the pleasant and forlorn. All declare, God is there, in meadows drest in green, Good is seen. See springing waters rise, fountains flow, rivers run; The mist that veils the skies hides the sun. Then down the rain doth pour, the ocean, it doth roar and beat upon the shore, and all praise in their ways, the God who ne'er declines His designs. The sun with all his rays speaks of God as he flies, the comet in her blaze "god', she cries; the shining of the stars, the moon, when she appears, His awful name declares; see them fly through the sky, and join the solemn sound all around. Sermon | “Standing Up” | The Rev. Ryan Balsan Time for Reflection The Sacrament of Baptism | 9:30AM Service Only Eleanor Holland Pool, daughter of Eric & Alexandra Pool + Affirmation of Faith | The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father, and will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Offertory Anthem | 9:30AM: Chancel Choir | 11:00AM: Quartet + Choral Scholars The Tree of Peace Gywneth Walker (b. 1947) O, my sister and my brother, all who walk upon this earth, fold to your hearts each other. Where mercy dwells, the peace of the Lord is there. To live rightly is to love one another each kindness a gift, each deed a prayer. O, my sister and my brother, fold to your hearts each other. Listen, listen to one another. Walk with rev'rence in the steps of those who have gone before, where forgiveness and wisdom has stood. So shall the wide earth become a temple, each loving life a psalm of gratitude. Listen, listen to one another. Then shall all shackles fall. The violence of war over the earth shall cease. Love shall tread out the fire of anger, and in its ashes plant a tree of peace. Listen, listen to one another, and plant a tree of peace. - Adapted from the Quaker poem, "O Brother Man," by John Greenleaf Whittier (1807-1892) + Doxology (Hymn 606) and Prayer of Dedication

We will also elect six members for the 2026-27 Nominating Committee who will serve a one-year term. If you have any questions about these roles, or are interested in getting involved but are uncertain about how you might contribute your talent, please reach out to any current Committee Member: Bebe Forster – Chair Larry Berglund Liz Coetzee Frone Crawford Briant Dudt Laura Evans Wendy Norman Meg Rosecky Mike Sieger
To submit your nomination, use the QR code or the card in the bulletin. Jesus taught his disciples that true leadership comes through serving others, teaching that to be a leader,
one must first become a servant.
