Words of Welcome
Moment for Mission
+ Call to Worship
We are here and we are yours. We come to worship you, O LORD. We long to love and be loved, we long for confession and forgiveness, we long for hope and for direction. We come to worship you, O LORD. We give you our devotion, our praise, our hearts. Let us worship God!
+ Hymn 681: NUN DANKET ALL’ UND BRINGET EHR’ This Is the Day the Lord Hath Made
+ Call to Confession
+ Prayer of Confession
Merciful God, we confess that we have not lived as your faithful children. We have been angry with the world and nursed grudges against our adversaries. We have hoarded the fruits of our labors rather than share our bounty with the needy. We have not built up our neighbors with words of kindness but have indulged in evil gossip. We have not forgiven the wrongs others have done, even though we desire your forgiveness toward us in Jesus Christ. Heal us, O God, and give us the grace to love as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us. Amen.
Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel. In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. + Declaration of Forgiveness

Time for Reflection
Affirmation of Faith | A Portion of “Brief Statement of Faith”
We trust in God, whom Jesus called Abba, Father. In sovereign love God created the world good and makes everyone equally in God’s image male and female, of every race and people, to live as one community. But we rebel against God; we hide from our Creator. Ignoring God’s commandments, we violate the image of God in others and ourselves, accept lies as truth, exploit neighbor and nature, and threaten death to the planet entrusted to our care. We deserve God’s condemnation. Yet God acts with justice and mercy to redeem creation. In everlasting love, the God of Abraham and Sarah chose a covenant people to bless all families of the earth. Hearing their cry, God delivered the children of Israel from the house of bondage. Loving us still, God makes us heirs with Christ of the covenant. Like a mother who will not forsake her nursing child, like a father who runs to welcome the prodigal home, God is faithful still.

MEET GUEST PREACHER REV. ANDREW HOSTETTER
Andrew Hostetter, better known as Sarah's husband or Sunday and Preston's dad, served as a Director of Youth Ministry (with other minor roles) at Wayne Presbyterian for over a decade. After leaving Wayne, he served as the Pastor at Centre Presbyterian Church in Perry County PA for three years. During that time Sunday (his daughter) grew up too quickly, they adopted a wonderful greyhound (Arnie), and Preston was born and melted their hearts again. In October 2023 Andrew left his church to accept a position as Supportive Living Chaplain at Willow Valley Communities in Lancaster PA, which is where he is from and his family lives. As a chaplain he gets to spend his time caring for the spiritual, mental, and emotional needs of over 200 residents. He particularly loves getting to hear the stories of his residents, who lived amazing lives and have a lot of wisdom to share. He also is grateful to be invited into so many sacred moments of faith and doubt, love and sadness, hope and despair as he walks with and prays with his residents and their families. While he is grateful for the journey God has brought him and Sarah on, he is always grateful for an opportunity to come back to Wayne to reconnect with his church family here that have made such an impact on his life.
